Could you not drill a very small hole in the boot floor to run a vent pipe through (In the spare wheel well), Dave?

Why not just have a thin line plumbed into the cap or a small hole in the cap to allow it to suck in the air it needs to stop it from collapsing?

The cap has a small hole in it - with a screw in plug. When the plug is screwed out - and the meth isn't running, the wmi is potentially fuming and rotting my brain (even more)

Yes, but then I'd have a fixed line attached to the tank. The fuel line has a quick release fitting. Now, you're going to say 'buy another one'. But I may have a one-way valve in amongst all the N112/249 pipework I ditched. Can't I try that?

What size pipe is it and I'll have a root around work to see if we have a one way valve kicking round.

Failing that the N249/112 pipework did have a one way valve in the system iirc. Sure my old one is sitting in the shed if its any good?

Dave returns from loft clutching plastic one-way valve from ditched emissions pipework. (there are at least 3). It looks as though the tail from it will fit the cap vent hole sleeved with a bit of vac pipe.

Just the job mate

Dave, in the boot, on the left hand side behind the vertical carpet/trim, there's a big(ish) bolt of polystyrene filler that comes out easy. It's not twelve litres, mind.

I'm at Cadwell Park tomorrow on a trackday. Had a real rush to get the car ready. I've just driven down.....

I've fitted the safety device to cut boost if the wmi stops flowing. Unfortunately the f*ckup fairy has visited and the safety device works - but the wmi isn't running. Too dark to see what's wrong now.

If I can't sort it in the morning, I'll have to switch it all off to get some decent boost..... I can't make up my mind whether to run a little bit of advance or not.....
