Dave, for logging CF's am I right in saying I should log 020? And that anything up to 6 is considered ok?
When running 50/50 water/meth did you have to reduce the fuelling at all?

I want to start tweaking the WMI for the best results now, hoping to attend a RR day on the 5th of Sept so I want it running spot on for that.

Yep, log 020 for timing pull (cf's) and I'm sure Dave hasn't adjusted any fueling either, Rob.

Dave - you really do owe me a ride next time we meet :)

With pleasure - I'd like a ride in yours too, Maz :D

Yes Rob, as Damien says, 020 is the one to watch once you're satisfied with fuelling in 031. I haven't had to do anything to fuelling - the map is spot on. :)

OK great. I've been watching my fuel trims since fitting the WMI and they're very close to 0 all the time, within a couple of %. Star adjusted my fuelling after I had the SEM fitted, before I had to add 18% because of the SEM, now I haven't added anything in Unisettings and trims are spot on.

sorry aint read all thread just too much your wmi kit is just like scoobys when they put water on intercooler? what bhp gain did you get on that set up didnt think you could get that sort of power from the engine impressed

No, thats what I've done on mine.

What DPJ's does is inject a water methanol mix inside the intercooler pipes, this reduces the charge temperatures allowing more timing to be added.......I think.

oh ok did you see more bhp then your way out of interest, what bhp increase did he get his way i might get a turbo car mk3 upgrade then :)

WMI is injected at a very high pressure so it atomises, this does a few things, when anything from a high pressure suddenly has a dramatic reduction in pressure the temp drops considerable, this means the charge is very cool to start with and as water has a very high specific heat capacity it absorbs heat from the combustion. You then add methanol which has a very high octane. This allows you to advance you timing, and both myself and Dave have seen significant increases in BHP, myself personally between 15-20 BHP. Its not for the faint hearted and you need to know what you are doing as to not blow up your engine.

With sufficient advance and the correct volumes, you burn the methanol as extra fuel.

We are looking in the order of 50bhp.

thats rather alot, like NOS but last longer then haha!

So how come only a 15bhp gain for one of you and 50 for the other? 15bhp is good like but 50bhp is what id want :D

Is relative, Dave has a bigger turbo. Its nothing like NOS, and requires allot of reasearch and time, its not plug and play, and that it appears is what you want.

What car do you have?

dont want to go off topic as been told off in another riders ride thread for it! i didnt mean nos as in plug and play, i just meant on a performance increase side of things, but id imagine it lasts longer between refills which is good. i own a mk2 ibiza atm but was looking at maybe going mk3 cupra or mk4 tdi but dont think they work on a tdi. impressive figures from yours too btw mate
