Have you listened to the car with the bonnet up on idle with this hissing? Where abouts is it coming from?

It's coming from the right hand side. I think it's the charge pipe turbo hose come lose but this is a hunch. Hopefully not worse.

You really should have checked this mate before driving on the road. Only takes around 10 seconds?

If the cars had a full rebuild by a well known tuner I wouldn't be checking for anything!
It should have been fixed properly first time!

If your having problems with your car and a simple check is suggested it would be considered prudent to check. Alex is a very competent mechanic. I had the same problem after fitting my relentless. The problem is more pronounced when using a forge charge pipe to turbo hose without oem heat shielding in place.

Doesn't matter who did the work on a car IMO, any human being can make a mistake or simple error unintentionally.

Just give the obvious things a once over yourself. I would be doing this.

Not disagreeing with the fact a simple check would of found the problem, but judging by the price he paid, I would be pretty annoyed with the fact the vehicle has just had forged rods fitted, and has broken down!

Well I did have a look actually, i couldn't see much to the limited light at the time but because it drove ok with the hissing, I risked driving it first thing the next morning cos I had to get to work.

Yes Alex is a good me mechanic and I trust him I think it was me driving it around whilst hissing that screwed it. I drove it once. BTW.

Then you have no idea about driving a tuned car

I suggest you look into people's backgrounds before you start making statements like that! My car is Stage 2 Ready. All modifications fitted by myself. And has never failed to start or break down.

The possibility is high that a hose has just popped off. But if I had paid £XXXX for work to be carried out I would expect it to be right the first time.
I no people make mistakes and it could be 'just a hose'
But would you be saying the same if it was 'just a wheel nut'

I don't need to look into anything. If you've never had a problem with a tuned car, then your a unicorn ;)

Then don't make such broad statements about people you don't no.
I had a heavily modified mk5 fiesta before my Leon.
1.7 puma engine
Phase 3 Newman cams
4-2-1 manifold sports cat
TV screen built into the headrests
Sony DVD headunit
AP coilovers
Fully polybushed
And No I did not have 1 problem with the car, call me a unicorn.

Actually I've never had a problem with my car either in the 8 years I've had it. Having NO AA roadside for 8 years is testament to that. My car has been solid. Truly solid.

Yeh it hopefully is a pipe. But it's a pipe I can't see. The reason I'm taking it up to Alex is so he can doubly check everything is ok etc etc.

It was my mistake not buying a heat shield to protect the engine parts from the new tubular manifold. Taking it on a blast would of made it shine bright white I'm sure.

Turbo cars pop hoses off for fun. I've had the Forge charge pipe pop off the turbo a few times. It's now been holding for quite a while (touch wood) since i got some JCS hi grip clips. I think mine was coming off due to the heat of the (standard) manifold allowing the jubilee clip loosen.

IMHO this is a design fault with that particular hose, if you compare it to oem, the oem has a lip to prevent the hose slipping past the clip. When i installed the relentless the hose got so hot it started to burn, it became quite slippery and partly pulled past the clip. It was my own fault really as i had ditched the oem heat shielding and not fitted the aftermarket heat shield. Stainless manifolds radiate significantly more heat than the oem cast.
Hopefully it is a simple fix for Dolby and nothing more serious.

Yep Mr Alex has fixed her. It was indeed a boost pipe. I think we all knew this, but the question was WHERE? I did check around the bay and i couldnt see nothing. It was a boost pipe behind headlight. (In my defence) Alex did say it looked like it was on lol.

Oh well good job I knew the recovery driver.
