Dillema Advice

unfortuantly that won't bother them in the slightest, have you tried contacting the DVLA regarding the vin numbers, technically if it doesn't match you could be in trouble, what about getting a hpi report done on the car and seeing what comes back ???

I have to say i feel for you mate but totally sypmathise , especially after all the problems i have had with them as well.

i have a letter from SEAT uk regarding my cars missfires and i qoute
"it is our opinion that both the counted missfires (15 in 5 mins) and popping through the exhaust under certain conditions are normal attributes to this type of vehicle , and is classed as manufacturing normality.
therefeore it is not deemed a fault with this vehicle"

funny though my car pops all the time , every gear change , ou have heard it Steve so you know what i am talking about.

i will be giving SEAT 1 last chance to repair the car otherwise i have no other option than to go legal.

When it pops and bangs out the exhaust how does the engine run? Does it sound like its on 3 cylinders? Is there added movement or vibration from the engine? I take it this is at idle and intermittent?

I bought the car brand new from M1. This is something that should of been picked up by them prior to delivery of the vehicle.

Should I have any issues with the police/resale then I will take legal advice as I have written multiple letters, sent multiple emails and also have phone records to prove that I have tried to get this sorted out.

All I can say is the response from M1 and SEAT has been far from satisfactory.

have you got a independant person to view the car and then write back to SEAT UK? Stuff like that usually helps, even with insurance companies.

i have a report from jkm as to their findings , seat say that they cant accept a third partys findings. they said they compared another cupra to mine which had the same popping and banging.
i have been to loads of seat meets and heard other cupras and these have never done the same as mine.
shame how they compared it but i didnt get the chance ? i am going to get them to set it up again so i can compare them like for like.

Bit late by however if this had have been me, I would have refused the car. If you are getting service like that now from them, think what you will be getting when you need something fixing under warranty etc.

Picked up car yesterday (review and pics to follow later......but very pleased with the car :D). Upside the car was delivered in an examplary condition and handover was slick and all paerwork present.

Oem installs tried to install the Seat OEm RNS510 yesterday evening and it was a simple plug and play but....there is a but even though everything worked bluetooth, USB ect you could not see the sat nav or media info on the MFD and the buttons on the steering wheel would not work. They think it needs the latest fimrware update as this is the first FL Leon they have done. They could of done it last night but was an hour for fimrware update and then 30mins to put the maps on the harddrive and with 2 children was too long to be at the services late evening. So they will update the unit and try again next week...another update to follow!!

SEAT uk will get a letter over this not that I expect them to do anything. But judging from the 15mins it took OEM installs to fit the GPS antenna and have the unit fitted and working a retro fit would of been a breeze Grrrrr as the RNS310 would of had the correct firmware it really is plug and play!!!.

Why should the customer suffer due to a **** up with Seat new system and there been no help which included supporting the dealer to resolve the issue as M1 to be fair did pit the updated order through. A car that was built before the system change and had 4 amendments over 4 weeks came through as orderd but a Boc that had a sunroof added a week after the intial order came through without the sunroof fitted!!!

Oh the Seat Sport "Young Sport" Recaro baby seat is supurb very classy and my daughter loves it even better FOC :D agian will post pics) Off to upgrade bulbs fir load liner and Supagard interior and exterior......

Let us know how you get on with the RNS510. I want this fitted to my FL FR. How much did they charge and does the CUPS still work? Thanks. Did they have to use vagcom to get it working or was it just a straight swap. Can you also tell us what firmware they put on the RNS510 to get it working wity the MFD. Cheers

I wonder what they would say if it was someone like the AA or a MOT tester.

If I was you mate, I would take your car to say a audi garage who have alot more experience with TFSI engines and let them do a diagnostic on it, get the paperwork of what they think needs doing and then send it to SEAT UK. Like to see them argue out of that one, SEAT dealers as such dont really come across TFSI's anywhere near as often as audi ones, so unless the PC says there is a problem, they wont do **** as they dont seem to have a clue.

The good news is CUPS worked fine and in total the unit and fitting will be £600 when it is reinstalled and all working they have left the GPS antenna in ready. It is just interfacing with the MFD that is the issue latest firmware should cure the problem.

Nice to hear some good has come of this. Hope you're enjoying the new car, very jealous, looking forward to next week to get mine.

As for the other guys with issues, it really is disgraceful, I would be tempted to go legal as well. I don't know what kind of precedent there is for this though and would be interested to see if anyone has any words of wisdom on the matter.
