Well my 3 covers arrived from @Tony Thurston. I’d asked for 2, mirror and a concept one, but Tony being the gent that he is, also sent me a grey one as he wasn’t happy with how the mirror looked. I see what he means, the edge doesn’t look as nice when cut. You’d never know if it was flush, but as the mirror is thicker than the black it doesn’t sit flush so you do see it.

Sadly the concept one, a clear base and black on top doesn’t work. The front LED on the charging unit isn’t bright enough to allow it to be seen in daylight unless at the right angle.

So the winner Is grey (plus dust):

Pictures don’t do it justice.

Massive thanks to @Tony Thurston for putting up with me and helping me with the project.

Still some final testing to do, so there maybe a Mk 2 down the lines if I can get away with thicker material.
Well final testing done.

Perfect fit ✅
Charges my phone (iPhone XS) ✅
Charges wife's phone (iPhone XR) ✅
Temperature for long charging periods ✅
Phone stays in place ❌ - Wifes does as it has a gel case, but my plastic case moved to much after a few quick roudnabouts.

Double thickness testing (Two designs on top of each other to see if a thicker material could be used (increases design possibilities)
Charges my phone (iPhone XS) ✅
Charges wife's phone (iPhone XR) ❌ Her phone being bigger just isn't as positioned as well as the usb area starts encroachign on where the phone woudl lie with a 5/6mm thick base.

For now I was able to cut a piece of 1mm thick black crafting foam. Wasn't convinced it woudl be enough when I arrived, but after some spirited cornering, my phone doesn't move. Sadly it doesn't quite look as smart...

So I think a Mk 2 cover will be in the making, I just need to find an appropriate material :) I'd like to find some dimpled rubber similar to the standard inserts in the cubby, cup holders etc.

You looking to match or beat @paddy6789 power output?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Errr well he got 390 at stage 2, after my Stage 1 fix’ with RL it got 392, but that was because of air temps being cold, so was ‘adjusted’ for air temps to 364.

It won’t be going Stage2 yet. Got a few other things not car related to pay for, so the downpipe maybe early next year now.

Car is looking great! Some really lovely touches!

I have a 280st and have been toying with getting the Maxton Spoiler lip and seeing how it looks on yours has made me want to push the button!

Just checking though, on their website, https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_40_682_339_757&product_id=4552 there doesn't seem to be one for the pre-facelift ST, but am I correct in reading your thread that this one for the Mk 3.5 Cupra ST should fit the pre-facelift?
Yeah, @paddy6789 has checked the part numbers, spoiler on the facelift and pre-facelift are the same :)

I've been umming and ahhing about the dynamic indicators for the wing mirrors. Aliexpress is okay for the odd none funcitonal bit (like gear knob trim), but didn't fancy taking a gamble on them. But the Osram ones are like £200.

But just done an impulse buy after seeing PP post on the SCN Facebook group :D

So you didn't fancy the "Super easy to DIY fit"? You could have done a photo guide!

LOL I may end up fitting them myself, its just saving on postage as there in a little over a week.
You will be able to fit them with your eyes closed compared to some of your other mods :)
Not that much more expensive than from Ali and at least you get a warranty. My aliexpress ones both died after a few months :(

So the car was treated to a much needed wash. Hadn’t been done since February so it got over 6 hours of attention from Nathan Kowalski, best it’s ever looked to be honest...

So intercooler is fitted, as are the grills, sadly the Indicators had sold out that fast even I'm waiting on mine.

Not had chance to boot it due to rush hour traffic to comment on anything power wise (doubt it'll be noticable as its about prolonged tempts and stage 2).

But I am very happy with how the grills turned out...

Dynamic indicators in the mirrors are now fitted. No video as everyone knows what they look like and I can't be bothered editing out my number plate.

"I can't be bothered editing out my number plate" - i love a bit of honesty hahaha
