When you get your scanner, read the faults and post them up. Then go from there.
Far better off removing it pal
What's your mileage? The mk2's rarely clog up as much as the old ones. Google "cleaning EGR" and you'll have loads of methods. Personally I'd remove it & learn to live with the pointless EML. Then get it mapped of when you get the chance. When I've had mine off I'd use brake cleaner and various scrapers, wire brushes and clothes to clean it.

Just over 70k now I think... I don't know if I have a mild dashboard OCD but the EML is what is doing my head in and the purpose of me getting this sorted is to get rid of it.
I know what you mean about deleting it but it's an extra £75 to get the delete pipe from darkside whereas removing it and cleaning it seems like the budget option (especially considering that the garage suggested i just buy a new one)
I used carb cleaner from toolstation. was about 3 quid off the shelf. used one and a bit cans but did intake aswell. Buy lots of rubber gloves as it is awful stuff, wear two or three pairs at once, it's very potent and will eat through plastic if left on too long.what would you recommend for cleaning it though? see lots of mention of carb cleaner but need it to be something i can buy retail tomorrow as I wanna get this sorted out over the weekend
