With my android note 3 and my cheap £5 Bluetooth ELM 327 odb2 an Altea 1.6 Diesel DSG I got the Carista pro and was playing with the settings managed to activate the following:

Allow configuring beep when locking/unlocking

I purchased the pro version of the app (£14.99) for iOS 8 which works via wi-fi ELM adapter. I am using this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DYOVXZ0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 which initially I thought was faulty as it was working intermittently but I now realise that my bluetooth handsfree kit was interfering with the wi-fi signal from the dongle. I solved that issue by using an extension cable http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J2N0VG4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 and my iPad and iPhone connect to the dongle first time every time and is producing reliable data now. Initially I was getting error codes for 3 out of 4 door locking mechanisms and my alarm ultrasound sensor not working. I haven't got issues with any of them but once I purchased the extension cable allowing the dongle to be much further away from the handsfree transmitter those errors no longer come up leaving only one genuine error which is the passenger side heated mirror element faulty. This is the only OBD2 app that detected this fault.

Of the customisations on offer for my 2007 FR 170 TDI I tried switching on the alarm beep but found it annoying but disabled the one button key press for lowering all windows as I have been caught out with that one before.

All in all for the outlay I think it is a fantastic app and combine it with something like Dash Commander and your phone/tablet becomes a fairly decent diagnostic tool.

Got my OBD dongle, Carista app, all worked very nicely. Got needle sweep on now plus a few other tweaks.
Had a go with Torque and that seemed fine too.
No faults returned from both apps.

It came today and I get 1 light on it. My iPad can't find its wifi signal!!! Looks like it's not working as neither of my laptops can see its wifi either.

Can anyone give me a recommendation of which dongle to buy. I have both android devices and an iPad. I just want one that works.

Any help appreciated, ,an ebay link to a good one or something.

Sorry for the rant, I got excited about needle sweep etc and have had my hopes dashed, sad I know!

See my post #42 for all you need for iPad use. The dongle will only show one light initially if it is the same one as I purchased. Try an extension cable first as the wifi dongle only puts out a weak signal and can get swamped by Bluetooth signal if your car is transmitting one - they are in exactly the same frequency.

The combination I detailed in my post works consistently well for me but is quite slow in transmitting data but for the price is superb.

Hi Guys

Just downloaded Carista and have got a bluetooth adaptor too. I managed to get it all paired up and it showed no fault codes, it also went into the customise menu, which showed lots of option, however would only save if the pro version was purchased.

I just wanted to know what happens when you pay the money, do you get another app that needs to be downloaded or how does it know that its the 'pro' version??

Go to Carista's website to see the options based on car type. Although The Rapid/Toledo section mentions this function, but they dont have the hardware modules to support it.

Airbag light will not go out until the issue is fixed, I had the same. Usually it's the under seat connector that is at fault. Are you sure the fog light bulb is not out? Or have you replaced it with a led?

Been scanning around the forums... so can I use this to change my MFD speedo to MPH instead of KMPH on a 2012 FR+?

It says:

I read elsewhere its possible by changing region which it also does:

However I'm concerned what ext. lights changes.
