coolant sensor? iv just changed mine and what a difference on the car, average mpg is slowly but surely rising and the needle stays put a little while longer, not too mention shes much more smoother, for £8 its worth a try, if its sensing the car is colder than it is it will run rich to compensate

where did you get the sensor mate? seat?

need to use less of the right foot lol, depends a lot on how you drive it, i can range between 25 - 40 mpg, had it down below 20 but that was gunning it everywhere. I drive to work on the morning and usually get 33 - 35 mpg, (about 12 miles, 3 miles in 30 zone, 5 miles in 50 zone and 5 mile in 70 zone)

messed about between super and normal when i first got car couple years ago but after a couple weeks i have only used v power or momentum from tesco, there is a difference between them and normal fuels. Quite a big difference if you manage to get fresh juice too, car feels quicker and more responsive, love it

yeah v power is defo more responsive, and supposedly returns a better mpg.
when you are all clocking you av mpg are you doing it manually or using the obc? coz my obc is telling me 20!!

i did mine iver a tank a while ago and got about 28 i think it was, but that was a mixture of driving,

using miles done and how many litres i put in, not using the cars computer lol

fleabay mate, green coolant temp sensor, £8 delivered and worth every penny in my case. i was sub 20mpg regardless of knacking it or taking it steady and im now slowly seeing it creep up, or at least im seeing a little more balance on the fuel gauge instead of it looking like its magnetic towards the empty light lol and the other added bonus is the car idles sweet, and doesnt come on boost like it wants to blow the driveshafts then run straight out of steam, nice and smooth

Cheers think i'll give a go next fill up! I know they say it returns a better mpg, but does this outway the extra cost in your opinion? I knwo btter performance will be generated but its waying up the cost as the missus drives it more than me...I know...I know, but she's got a proper heavy right foot, and loves to use it lol

woah this has filled up.lol

I have always used v power since my remap as it has to now but i wouldnt say standard would need it other than cleaning everything out better.

The sensor i got off ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-DUEL-COOLA...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a0b5042d3

My mpg i can see 28 on a journey and thats it at the moment. Thats a 17 mile journey to my dads, 5 miles town the rest dual carriageway and a roads so jimbob id say you have a problem.

Ive also cleaned the MAF and the AIT sensor aswell as changing back to my Forge DV after servicing it.
Tomorrow my green cotton filter is to be cleaned with proper filter cleaner.

Cheers for everyones responses so far.
