Obligatory car park shot. Fitted a dashcam the other week. I had a trip to London at the weekend, so I'm about to hit 800 miles on the clock.

Remote key fob distance is pants; you have to be right next to the car and sometimes press the button a few times.

I seem to recall some owners had issues with unlocking cars in some car parks - possibly signal issues. But generally only affected specific spots?
Or maybe just needs a new keyfob battery?!

Thanks. It's the same outside anywhere I am and it's a brand new key so wouldn't have thought it was the battery. I'll try the second key (which I haven't done yet) though.

Still need to lock it though or does yours auto lock? The press cars do but I'm sure they've got extra security tech. Mine doesn't.
Presume your auto unlocks when you approach... this was a coding mod on Atecas but they might have implemented it. To lock if it's like the original kessy you just cover the dimple area on the handle, the back of your fingers and touch. That normal kessy lock unless disabled though some menu setting. Suspect it will lock by touch if you do that and you got it unlocking on proxy.

Normal kessy open and lock without proximity opening is just grip the handle, lock is back fingers, touch on the dimple you see on the handle.

There are diagrams... may be they changed it somewhat.

Nb. Found the manual for your car... B you touch to lock, no key fumbling. Just standard kessy if it's like manual.

Mines the same with the bad signal. Tried new batteries, tried using the spare but no better. Brought it up at the service and the mechanic agreed it was poor but apparently there was nothing they could suggest! You could lock my mk3 Leon from half a mile away lol...

It's actually got a bit better with updates not sure how...

I'm used to it now and just use the keyless.

I'm assuming you know about putting your hand on the inside of the handle to unlock and tapping the back of the handle to lock it?

That way you never need to use the remote.

The remote to lock is probably old school 😉. Been happily using Kessy since 2016. The early Formentors seemed to have an issue where both the left and right fell asleep with low car battery. They are designed to close down the Kessy passenger side to save the car battery if it's getting low... in that case take a walk to the drivers side. The launch Formentors seemed very sleepy both sides went off together. Think that's been fixed.

The virtual pedal if it's got one is the virtual pedal dance. That's stand behind with the key on your person. Foot underneath then step back to break the kessy link between you and the car, the tailgate will open, if not try again. Health and safety, becareful when you step back. Nearly had me flat out at a Premier Inn with the curb at the back. You can normally move left or right to break the connection. It is handy when carrying stuff.
