Sorry for asking for this here but i want to ask you is it possible to add to MIB2 (Leon 5F MY 2019)? Is it very complicated (i have OBD11)?
Is it easy way to check can i upgrade my system?

Hello i have version MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0368T in my 2015 MIB2 unit i tried to update to MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0369T but says everything is up2date. I think the 368 is a old retrofitters patched image everything enabled. If i tried to update MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0480T / MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0516T its says not compatible. i think the hardware is to old HW H24.

The train jumps is the one mib2 standard is designed to do and if you do it you might brick the unit. Saying that some people on the thread are now using the mib2 standard toolkit and have done these train updates but technically you have to master the Mib2 standard toolkit and risk bricking it, although there are ways of untangling that. @leonlad and @cairus have experience of that but it isn't a simple update.

Basically, if you are on YXX you can't upgrade to ZXX. Y and Z is the train. That is a train jump. Where issues were found with the firmware, they were updated on the train. Retrofitters like @East Yorkshire Retrofits can do the train jumps by sending off the unit to them or you have to get up to speed on the Mib2 standard toolkit to do it and associated risks.

buy a HW40 device, patch it as you need it, and have fun with it. Everything else is if you are really interested in learning new things. But expect that the money will almost certainly be gone 😅

Or plunge straight in with 1447AIO. Depends what you want to do. Update to the latest firmware and release all the FeC that's the AIO bit, all in one. That bit does what the other Mib2 high tool kit does. One does pretty screens that's the one index above the other liberates the FeCs. Both written by the same guy. FeC liberation requires a module to be written to handshake with the corrent firmware in the unit. So you have to check it supports that. The AIO version it knows, 1447.

Links...

1447AIO

The FeC toolkit is this which you don't need if you install 1447AIO

Kit:

So you got a make things pretty toolbox which I don't know much about, never having the need:

Box:

But the guy also wrote / inputted to the Mr Bonk stuff. His code as I recall and went into that project.

Ones a kit and the others a box. Both are discussed on the two threads.

That's not how SVM works... It's pointless spoofing the old VIN to configure the unit to it, as it's already configured to the old VIN. It's not possible to SVM incorrect part numbers/software info to your actual VIN

You'll have to manually code & parameterise the new unit

The invoice from the breaker with old vin was needed to be show to the seat dealer if i wanted coded to my vin. Thats shows its not a stolen part.

correct. best to use VCDS to create an image of the control unit. then upload this to the new unit. the channels that are the same will be adopted, everything else has to be done manually.

Needs toolkit to accept any meta info.

I have 5qa035858 on hw24 running 0480 with no issues at all. Its now a 5qa035858b unit

I think the seat one are all the same
