We are up to November 2023 on this link for mib3 at the top. post 1

The issue with reading these files for me is I can't see the release data YY.MM in the files. I need a bright spark to read the Hex. It's going to be in there, but since I haven't got mib3, I haven't gone out of the way to find how to read it. I through the challenge out from time to time :). Somebody knows how to do it I guess.

I will keep posting them up for people that want to do it this way. Seat often drags it's heels, ditto Skoda. The map files are totally interchangeable between brands. They get identified early before a web page wrapper is put on them.

So old…
I have 23.6

It took me a while, but I have 24.2 since 29th March 2024. It came as an over the air update some time after I activated the CONNECT App. (Its free subscription expired 3 days ago, and I am not going to extend due to its high price).

Seat Connect prices are really 'strange'? In March 23 a 12 month renewal was £119. March 24 and its £105 for 2 years! (£59 for 1 year)
I renewed for 2 years.

...still stuck at Maps version 20.7 in my late '20 FR and Infotainment version 1940.
Since I cannot -in any possible way- register myself as the Primary User to make use of the Connect App, I guess I need to wait. Got myself an appointment at SEAT in my area, on June 17th to have this (hopefully) resolved...🙏

& you haven't gone dark about giving your details. The off grid people moan about getting updates, you don't if you block it. Probably not that thou.

The thread here is more for people that don't want to pay for connect services but can still update the maps for free twice a year like mib2 on VW and Skoda and Seat but using work arounds previously. Now for mib3, Seat joins the other two. Pass on what Audi do.

I believe from the downloaded Seat app you enter your ID and the central Vag services will tell you what services you are granted for connect services on your vehicle against the free / subscription period. That's the definitive way of doing it. Re-subscription is done that way as I understand so if they want you to pay for specific services it can only be done from the app. Connect services are bundled differently across Vag. I'd have a look at that and see what it's showing.
I did not check if which service was included in the Netherlands. I got the confirmation that it is not for free, after I let my subscription expire. I didn't get any live traffic info anymore and last weekend that caused me problems. Since then I only rely on my Sygic app on Android Auto.

Yes unlike mib2 with tmc you have to subscribe to get traffic reports with connect services.

You don't get the over the air updates if not signed in correctly. I believe it tells you they are pending but won't do them. This is where it catches out people that don't sign in correctly. Group of people that like to use their car "dark", net effect they don't get updates which undermines connected services.

Well if it's like mib2 high which it will be you need the rest of the world navigation FeC. If it's a second hand European import car it will be set to the European FeC. Whilst you can swap navigation FeCs on mib2 highs I'm not aware of any tool boxes that do that for mib3. If it's shipped new to Africa it may be setup then may be not. Last time this came up I said check the FeCs on a working one in that region against your. I fear you will have to do more research. VAG closed the door on toolboxes that go into the green menu. It's probably an on the bench mod similar to those that were done in the early days of mib2 highs. Here a password is required to get into the box with an interface. Suggest you look at anything on github to see whether its been progressed. VAG tightened up on security. They didn't want users meddling with the firmware. Guess they made finding passwords more tricky for the on the bench method. Removing the POI import the backdoor went for green screen tool boxes.

@Chillout is the expert on these things if we can raise him. He can tell us whether it is a DIY task yet.

The other thing is if it's a fully original car imported for that location with working old maps then it will be tripping on file presentation, CleanMyDrive if using a Mac and not using USB A to USB C adaptors. Those two issues will cause it not to work. It won't give you diagnostics, it just won't see the files.

That will be your navigation FeCs you'll need rest of the world ones, you'll have to get a dealer or someone to change the European ones to what Algerian Seat Mib3s have. Mib2 high it's DIY, Mib3 I reckon it isn't.
Thank you man, i will take the car to a garage

Shall try update my '71 Etsi this weekend. From reading the thread, i can just leave the usb stick in over various journeys, and not just one long one? Driving over to Manchester tomorrow, so will probably be an hour there and same back, and parked up for the day inbetween. So i can start it when i leave and then check when i get home if updated?

You can open the door ever 15 mins also helps if standing once started. The key thing is the presentation of the files and a proper USB C that makes full data connection.

I have now edited into the top post the June 2024 ECE 2024/25 offline link to the files. Seat are still dragging their heals on these files but just load up the ones linked to all the same files.

Namely these:

Skoda have officially released the 2024/25 maps for Europe if you had a Skoda VIN, fear not the direct link is this:

https://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/OI_P119_EU_202425_Offline_Update.zip

VW have not as yet put the file up on their map site but again we have the link:

https://navigation-maps.volkswagen.com/vw-maps/EUR_12PR119_FCT3WS-23131_Offline_Update.tar

Both are identical. These are 23.12.

It should be, but you can never tell. Skoda on mib2 standard ran with a time delay of six months. Seat have missed a number of releases now ditto mib2 high. Probably staffing and where they put their resources in the Spanish HQ to put the web page around it. At one point Seat were on top of things, they had more rest of the world releases than VW in their library.

It's all the same file produced centrally across the VAG group, then each brand separately puts a webpage around it zipping the file beforehand. Only the firmware is different by brand for a particular infotainment unit. A sticky label that may say Discovery, Columbus etc. The generic map release is read by the brand specific firmware and proceeds showing the Seat part number of the map, but that generic release also contains all the other part numbers, so it just gives the correct splash screen. So in short, the map release is generic, and you use the first one that comes out if using offline releases if you want the latest offline maps for the unit.
