If you have a usb-stick and you can get the software, you can do your own update. I did it by myself and it is easy to do.
How?

Strange that they want to change brake fluid, as a new car's first change is usually at 3 year then every 2 years. I had mine tested in the past and it was still ok even at 3 years old. That all sounds fantastic and exactly what I'm hoping for tbh.
As per original thread I was on 1896 and really didn't have any issues that bothered me. Cupra 'invited' me to have a software update so it was done in March along with its second service (car was 8 months old when I bought it and had its first service then). It came back to me with 1899 software and a few weeks later that's when all the problems started!
Cupra called me mid June to say the car is 2 years old and needs a brake fluid change. So I mentioned the infotainment issues including the full system crash (infotainment and digital dashboard crashed at 70mph on the M5). They booked it in for today for both items.
The call came from Cupra UK not my dealer so I never questioned it tbh. I've always done it, or had it done every 2 years on my cars regardless.Strange that they want to change brake fluid, as a new car's first change is usually at 3 year then every 2 years. The first brake fluid change on VW’s is now also due at 2 years (then every 2 years), rather than at 3 years, so it may be a VAG thing across all the VAG brands.Strange that they want to change brake fluid, as a new car's first change is usually at 3 year then every 2 years. To be fair it’s very easy, just need a usb c 32gb once it’s on the memory stick just follow the instructions and it does all its self. Takes about 15mins. Longest part is downloading to the memory stick.Interesting. I’m tempted, but feels a bit too risky. Wish they’d carried on the over the air updates.
Sadly I’m not convinced my local shop would be prepared to do the update. They like to do the bare minimum.

Are you still under warranty? My dealer said they did a big infotainment upgrade plus firmware to the emergency SOS system. They said it was the SOS upgrade that was causing the installation issues which was why they kept the car in overnight.Interesting. I’m tempted, but feels a bit too risky. Out of warranty I'd try the upgrade myself, but no brainer otherwise. Hope you get it sorted.
I've had several ota updates like this on previous software, but obviously nothing since 1940 (yet). I think they've mainly been navigation ones.Since getting my 1940 update done (wasn't a service, just warranty fix due to issues).. today I for the first time got a red dot - update!
Screenshots attached.
Btw, if you are not getting updates, no red dot on earlier that 1940.
One thing I tried that made issues disappear for a while...
Go to updates and apply them. Forget if it was in engineering or settings.. anyhow, there might be some updates there but not showing but can be applied, check!

Fair enough, a few folk have moaned about Carplay resolution. I use Android Auto myself and don't have that issue.Yeah, still under warranty, but I don’t have any issues. I just want that high res CarPlay

For info SEAT dealer did my software update yesterday. What I do know is, to get that done, will have to be a proper cupra dealer. Aka not a seat one. Seat dealers will only do servicing.
Hope that helps
Exactly what I did. I’ve had a few periods where the screen rebooted, but nothing like the frequency of some people. I just called and said I was having the issues that most people were having.Fair enough, a few folk have moaned about Carplay resolution. I use Android Auto myself and don't have that issue.
Maybe just call and tell your dealer you're having issues, perhaps they'll book it in for you?
The 1940 firmware won’t solve that issue unfortunately! You need to tell them to update the telematic module. They won’t do it unless you tell them you get this issue and you want it updated. After 2 days of being on 1940 I took a 60 mile trip from Derbyshire to Telford yesterday. Had speaker pops 4 times and the the SOS emergency popped up!!!
What a total PITA.
I'll be doing the return trip tomorrow so I expect it'll do exactly the same thing.
Sorry, I worded that wrong. They told me specifically they had updated the SOS module as well as updated the infotainment to 1940. They told me the same thing after the first time my Leon was in for the SOS error. They sorted it on the second attempt. Guessing they either didn’t update the telematics module firmware the first time, or they reloaded it the second time.Sorry, I worded that wrong. I'll be on to them on Monday.
