Just had a look at my online banking and erm, i owe more than i thought. Besides buying the car last year i also had to get a new combi boiler. May have to bang off a few k in lump sums next year before i go car shopping.

On a side note, what would put you off buying this car?lol

Is yours a BAM, Rich?

Just been looking for EGR gaskets - £5 each! Daylight robbery... Cheaper from somewhere like Autodoc but they want £8 postage...

I hate being at this place - it could be EGR gaskets, turbo to pancake pipe, faulty MAF sensor, engine mounts, faulty MAP sensor and of all things, DMF on its way out.

Or some or all of the above.

Going to start with the cheapest and work my way up.

How far up north are you?
Will keep hold till the new year. But if a deal could be had im sure we could figure out price and distance.

I'm in Brighton - which is why I'm hoping you're as far away from me as possible...!

I probably can't afford it in any case, but if you do have a price in mind, feel free to drop me a PM.

A bit unfortunate then lol. I try and get to Brighton a couple of times a year fishing. It doesn't do well in the marina multi storey. Front splitter scrapes at the bottom of the down ramps even though the suspension is standard. Usually have to leave it in the Asda carpark.
No pressure m8. Ill let you know when im down that way if you want to take a look.

The insurance. They’re quick and subtle which makes them popular with people you don’t want your car popular with

That'd be awesome actually - both to meet someone from the forum but it'll also give me a little while to see if I can get rid of the problems I'm having with mine. What colour is yours?

Did some research on some of my symptoms and I came across a Ford forum where there were a lot of people who had said their EGR valve was making a hissing sound. Turns out since I took mine out last when I was trying to get to the intake manifold, I've been hearing a hissing sound too, so it might just be a loose bolt or a gasket.

Hopefully.

After thinking the standard 3 point in the car wasn’t quite up to the job, I forked out for a TRS 4 point harness (road legal). Fitted it today, took the car out for a little test run, found a back road that’s prime Cupra territory and… yeah, harness does it’s job well.

That and I really should soften up the suspension a bit, was a bumpy ride (and a tad sketchy under braking but that was more the road and lack of pedal feel)

I knew I could count on you all to try to put me off.

It looks like I'm going to be newly single in a few months' time then.

See, you’re looking at this the wrong way.

She’ll appreciate you more because you keep the TDI, it becomes her motor and you get another “cheap” (ok, it won’t be but that’s NOT what you tell her) car that you already know how to work on so if anything does go wrong you can fix it easy.
