Maybe, but metric fine threads have no buisness being used on aluminium.No bluff too tough

Why the car industry does this, I have no idea.
Some racers back in the day, drilled and retapped their
aluminium Metric threads for Whitworth.
Whitworth is a British standard thread that dates back to the 1840's.
Engineering wise, it is a much stronger threading system.
