So, after 20 years, the alternator pulley seized. That put a considerable amount of effort onto the belt. Result: the belt tensioner cracked! 3 hours later and 300€ lighter, the problem was solved: new alternator core and brushes, new INA pulley, new GATES belt and new INA belt tensioner.

Me too several months ago. the tensioner doesn't last long with a seized freewheel pulley on the alternator.

Mate it’s so easy. I jacked under the engine/box depending what you’re doing then undid it. And replaced it. I didn’t need to really disturb anything. I unplugged the coolant bottle and I did the mounting screws on that and the Ps reservoir, that’s it. Half hour a side and that was with me pissing about haha

Just dropped my car off at the garage for full service and cambelt kit.
Picking it up on Saturday. Fingers crossed for no dramas.

Aaaand what a horrible thing it is too.

At least for me, all the aluminium thread came out with the bolt on disassembly.
I didn't even get the chance to overtighten it.
Bodged with a coarse metric thread helicoil kit, some old bolt and blue loctite.

Evening all, does anyone know the spark plug gap to run when doing the conversion upgrade from standard coil packs?

About to do the job now and just remembered reading a while back there's a different gap

Just replaced the rear brake pads.
Last pads fitted, Bosch, but with "made in PRC" on the box.
Sigh.
Inevitably, chinesium pads rusted solid on the caliper bridge.
Dragging brakes, and lousy fuel consumption.
So, as posted elsewhere,
Genuine VW lucas pads, price point £26 plus.
Genuine Peugeot Lucas pads, price point £16 plus.
So, being greedy & credulous, Peugeot is what I ordered.
and..................
they fit perfectly.

One set left from this seller,
mine were water damaged,
but that was the packaging, pads were fine with genuine citroen peugeot logos
