I’ve just been reading this thread and thought exactly the same. These cars are going to be great once all you peeps have finished Beta Testing them
Fair shout to you all for sticking with it and having more patience than me; by now I think I'd be slamming the keys back down on the salesman's desk and starting a frank and meaningful discussion about a refund.
Nooooooooooooo! What have the garage come up with?My Formentor again failed to start the engine yesterday (right on the forecourt after filling a full tank). Had the same set of assist system unavailable faults flash at me including the “drive system error - contact workshop” one.
I tried cycling the ignition several times, then locking and unlocking and trying again - no luck. So I walked back into the station shop to let the staff know I was stuck and would call recovery. Walked back to the car, tried one more time and it started immediately!
So this is the third time it’s now happened, the previous two times my vehicle was recovered by SEAT assist and I had the saga with SMC Aldershot unable to find the cause or reproduce the fault, and Cupra technical saying there’s nothing they can do. They told the garage to reset faults and see if it happens again - well it finally has now!
So the fault information will be stored, it’s whether they are going to take it any more seriously on the THIRD occasion. I resigned myself last time to giving them three strikes policy before I kick off and reject the car (through the leasing company, for added complication) if nothing gets resolved. After driving the car home I’ve left it parked up and emailed my contact at SMC, nothing will happen until Monday now but I’ll see what their response is this time...
Nooooooooooooo! What have the garage come up with?
Mine has behaved (well almost) since I got it back. I have noticed on CCTV at night that it "flashes" internally when its locked and the keys are tucked up in their Faraday pouches, which give me anxiety. I sent the garage a video and they don't seem to have any idea why!
Can you elaborate on the “flashes internally” statement above? I’m not sure what that means? CheersNooooooooooooo! What have the garage come up with?

Standard, I think most vw group cars have a small led that flashes to show alarmed 'armed'. My previous Golf R had the same as in the Formentor, nothing to worry aboutNooooooooooooo! What have the garage come up with?

It’s not the little alarm led light, its the whole internal dash light that randomly comes on then goes off!Can you elaborate on the “flashes internally” statement above? I’m not sure what that means? Cheers

If it’s the whole dash it could be an earthing fault and needs investigation. The led strip or dash switches on and off?
it seems so...must be signalling to the "mother ship"!!The led strip or dash switches on and off?
Err, yeah - that isn't normal methinks. Best get it checked
My keyless was temperamental again, randomly not working at supermarket, when I needed it. Worked ok 10 minutes earlier and 10 minutes later at home.
It got me thinking about preferential early termination of PCH with VWFS. Not sure if they still offer it. One of the conditions was to get another VAG car financed by them. Went on Autotrader and couldn't find any car I would want to swap to. Used car prices are too high and I don't want anything new.
Got two quotes for trade in price for 21 plate VZ2 model with 3200 miles on a clock and they came around £36-36.5K
That looks like the blind spot amber light? I know that mine sometimes comes on randomly when I’m driving (nothing at the side of me either, ) maybe it also happens when I’m tucked up in bed
