Ok so some of you may have seen that I'd posted on the 1.8T tuning group over on Facebook in regards to this install so to save me time I'll simply quote it here as its obviously very relevant to this thread and my sanity.
"Having just spent the past couple of days pulling apart my recently completed engine bay to remove the Mamba K04 hybrid turbo and Relentless Pro4 manifold to make way for the AET380 turbo and port match Chinafold I've been met with waaay more issues than I ever anticipated!
Apart from the fact working at the rear of the engine is bloody horrific on these cars why the **** is every oil and coolant line so damn restricted to get to?
First
problem which I've kinda got round now was the oil feed line which was fouling the outer manifold stud - a combination of tweaking the pipe and shallower nut gave me the extra few mm needed...I think
Next up is the cold side turbo outlet is pointing towards the firewall, im guessing it may need clocking a touch but can this be done in situ as I REALLY don't want to remove it again due to the lines and it's already been off twice already?
Now for the big *******
problem which I can't believe I've encountered - the downpipe is hard up against the floor pan and gone from been very very close to the steering rack with my old set up to been pushed right over the opposite side of the tunnel.
So much so that it's going to be unusable FFS!
Surely this isn't normal with Chinafolds & AET turbos which is very common and popular combination?
The only way I can see to resolve this is to get the car transported to an exhaust specialist and have the downpipe modified, definitely not something I was expecting.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated, and yes torching it has crossed my mind."
