It is a bit, it's one of my mates who has his own detailing business which is very well regarded, I doubt he will spend 3 full days on it but from watching him work he will spend a hell of a lot of time on it, It will be worth it in the end though

It does take a while when machine polishing. I can spend 12 hours on mine and not have it finished lol.

Will definitely be worth it though.

Fitted new front passenger locking module, and what a ballache it turned out to be after the regulators came off the doorcard and refused to line back up to refit.

Tip for anyone else: only loosen the two lowest bolts that secure the bottom of the regulators, don't fully remove them. They slot into the doorframe at the bottom so you can get away with doing this. That way the regulator definitely stays attached to the door card and makes your life 1.4 million times easier.

On the plus side, I finally have a working door again.

Popped down to AKS Tuning on Tuesday and they changed my Cam Chain and Tensioner to ease my OCD stresses. Whilst there they also gave the car a once over and fitted a lovely braided hose that replaces the solid clutch pipe and swirl pot weak point in the engine bay.

The clutch feels awesome now, really smooth pedal travel and it's nice knowing that crappy swirl pot and plastic clips are gone.

Alex also showed me how to remove the airbag from my OEM Cupra steering wheel, god what a total pain in the hoop it is!!!!!

Glad to have finally fitted the new wheel, it feels amazing and really cannot wait to try it on track! I changed the control module to a newer CH version which enabled all the buttons to work as it has 12 compared to the original 8. Unfortunately SEAT in their infinite wisdom have done something wacky with the G85 steering wheel sensor so I've had to order a slightly different version to fix an annoying niggle but it'll be all good in the end!:D

Had a good weekend down at GTI Spring Festival at Santa Pod with a load of great guys, especially enjoyed the beers the night prior to the event at the Hotel!

Was a really great event with plenty of great cars and action on the strip.

Found a couple of pics of mine on FB afterwards too! :funk:

Still getting used to it, can't decide lol.

I love how short the changes are but it feels a bit too stiff as if the gearbox is going lol.

I found it felt the best when it wasn't adjusted quite to the shortest setting, but I also put the shifter bushings on at the same time

I'd agree Rich. The stiffest setting made it feel incredibly notchy and almost broken. Mine is on about 60% (just past the middle) and it's perfect. I too, like everybody else, went straight to the shortest setting possible

Mines in the shop today whilst I'm at work...... Having my alloys refurbed - went for BMW Ferric Grey 2 which should looks awesome on the car. Fingers crossed - gonna be a long day

Good to know, I will re-adjust it over the weekend. Just can't be arsed to take the air filter out again lol.....needs to be done though.

Wheels should look good Dan, mine are desperate for a refurb.

As above

To be honest after being given a few paint chip/booklet things and looking through the silly amount of colours and finishes available - I told them the sort of colour I wanted and they suggested this

Mega happy with the paint, but less than impressed that they've used an impact gun to put the wheels back on and the bolts are done up stupidly tight. Will be going back down there after work to get them to undo the bolts so I can do them up properly

*edit* all is forgiven

they weren't all stupidly tight, just a couple. Very apologetic and gave me a free touch-up pot of the paint so I can touch up any marks that occur, stonechips etc. All torqued up as they should be so job done.

Plastidipped the blue washer bottle cap in black...

Followed the instructions to the letter and guess what, it peeled. This stuff is utter shite.

Ive used plastidipp on my S badge to spray it white before and it held up for 5 months... It's was discoloured but didn't peel, held up against snow foam and pressure wash all winter, thought it was alright really, maybe the heat?

I've had mixed results with it, the stuff on the front bumper has held up fine.

I didn't even get chance to get the washer cap back onto the car, it peeled as it dried :cartman:

I've done my front grill with it, redid it after about 20k because of stone chips. Otherwise never had an issue.

Sounds more like contamination to me, did you give it a good clean with a solvent cleaner first?

I did my boot badge the other day in white, hated it and peeled it off 10 minutes later.

I would hate the boot badge as well, changed to a red S now anyway lol and some new twin exit ovals to match the badge lol
