What did you and your MK2 do today?

It's pretty bad, definitely slipping in 4/5/6th gears lol

i feel your pain on that one mine is doing the same, have to feather the throttle in to use the power from about 4000rpm.

carried out an oil and filter change on my cupra today and was rather disappointed to find vag have used the paper element style (diesel oil filter) inside a crappy plastic filter housing which was done up bloody tight [:@] i much prefer the metal canisters as they are a lot easier to remove.

if anyone needs to know you remove it with a 36mm socket which i eventually managed to find.
also soaked up the water around one of the spark plugs before changing them well done seat.
ive finished ranting now :crash:

I thought mine was slipping, but is only very slight, very occasional and only at 4k ish rpm, it holds strong even in high gears at low speeds if I boot it (only did this to check for slip, I know this will kill the clutch very quickly!). It quite strange and happened last year, was then fine all year and now has appeared again. Seems to be seasonal haha

i think ive encouraged mine to slip as i previously owned diesels for a few years so ended up using the torque rather than dropping down a gear driving it like a diesel by mistake.
the car happily does it though just not the clutch lol.

On my last car (stage 1 Cupra) I thought the clutch was going for about two years, but it only started slipping during prolonged cold weather. Was fine all summer, then slipping again over winter.

Yeah, I'll get the whole lot done at the same time. Cheapest place for a DMF?
My local garage who replaced the clutch sourced mine from their parts supplier, probably best to get quotes from a few places, think i paid around 240 for the standard dmf

what stage of tune are you running with the standard clutch as i would like to go to stage 2plus and remain using a dmf.

I'm on a baby K03 so different ball game to the Cupra. Been running stage 2 but upgraded to 2+ this afternoon

No idea on numbers at the moment, not turned the wick up on the Revo yet as I'm fitting WMI tomorrow. Car made 270hp & 300lbft on a not so generous dyno at stage 2 before FMIC back in the summer.

Will be going back on the dyno once its all set up and I'm happy, not sure how long the clutch will last though :)
