is yours a pd170 mate? want to do the same with mine but can't seem to find a guide to doing it on my engine.

Pd140, not sure if they are the same, but it was just a matter of undoing a few Allen keys and making sure you don't drop anything in the engine bay. Its very messy but worth it.

This may help you, although most isn't relevant as its for the delete not clean, so its not necessary to remove all the pipework as shown, just the egr itself.

Im planning on doing my Pd170 Egr valve on friday to..I did my Audi A4 one and it was a messy job..I never noticed a difference after I'd done it...mines got stuttering issues I've done the map re-tweak twice and the reduction gasket and its still there in 3rd so gunna try the Egr now.

I had a swatch at a colleagues a4 but the engine bay looked different to mine, he swore it was a 170 with DPF and egr delete. If you happen to take a few pics while you're at it I'd be much obliged.

I used carb cleaner from tool station for mine, bought 2 cans for a fiver and still got half one left. It is so strong it melted the plastic handle on my wire brush, so make sure you remove the rubber gasket from egr before using it. Due to this I didnt use it for the manifold as its plastic also. I only used gunk degreaser which wasn't really powerful enough as you can't get inside with a brush unless you use a pipe cleaner or something. Most people on you tube use Mr muscle and a pressure washer with great results, unfortunately I didn't have any as I hadn't actually planned to do the manifold, but when realised how easy it came off I though might as well.

PD140 and PD170 EGR are virtually the same, The PD140 works by vacuum the PD170 is electronic.

The EGR delete pipes are the same though.

Quite a bit done in the last few days/today...

Fitted the R spoiler to the FL bootlid:

Fitted my mk3 Leon FR 18in 'Performance' alloys (only pic I am happy with until coilovers are fitted next week):

Carbon wrapped the inner door handles (easier than I thought but you need an hairdrier and very sharp blade):

Also painted behind the number plate black, have fitted a black Cupra grille and have a Triple R front splitter to fit (after coilovers are on), AP coilover on Wednesday and also repainted my lower part of the sterring wheel a dark gunmetal grey (didnt like black after I painted it) which I will put photos of all the above when done :).

Then off to the luxembourg to watch the Burg Cup Hill Climb on Friday next week.

Sounds like you've been busy since I met you! How much was the spoiler and painting if you don't mind me asking?

We'll my alloys arrived today alas the bloody tyres didn't. But I was recommended to try the rims on the car before fitting tyres to ensure the fit. I got the 3SDMs 0.01 18" 5x112 8.4j ET45s. Now they fit and clear the brakes. They also clear the wheel arches...... Is this ok or illegal???

Gave the car a quick clean, there was lots of lovely beading after I'd washed it...but the sun was out and it was leaving streaks, so I gave the car a good dry.....Im using Poorboys wax @ the mo it smells like bubble gum and leaves a lovely shine..but I need to get another coat on as the rain keeps dulling the shine....
