Very sexual. Not sure it will be any more progressive than brembo but definitely have more stopping power. Your still not remapped are you? Think it's about time you got a boost :)

Maz, progressive in terms of pedal travel as I've now gone from 4-pot to 6-pot. This fortunately or unfortunately (depends how you see it) creates slightly longer (progressive) pedal travel; however slightly less than the 17z variant. You can adjust the handbrake to assist along with using specific brake fluid (now using Brembo 6000). It's something I'll get used to and become confident with over time I'm sure. Stopping power will be greater for sure.

Map wise, my exhaust is literally falling apart so a TB system is likely to be one of my next big purchases and that'll need to be mapped in, so looks like my hand will be twisted to a mild stage 2, given the all mods, car's age and mileage. Revo linear will be my choice.

And so you should be mate as you've done it all yourself that why I always ask you for help first lol

I know, I'm gonna start calling you the Bandit, lol. I dread to think what list we're gonna concoct when you come over... We'll (I) paint those bits that we discussed also :) I've seen your rota now so I'll send you a couple of dates tomorrow.

Hey mate,You're brakes look really impressive,Have to say they look a very tight fit with the wheels,Bet you're really pleased with how they've turned out.
If your thinking of a remap i don't think you could go wrong with REVO as i can't fault what it's done for my car.

That's what I thought. Hope there's not too much flex in the parts once on the move.

Looks great though! :D

Perfect fit... I have a finger space all the way around apart from where the brake pad pin is. I know metal expands when hot but I shouldn't imagine they'll be any flex given the materials used, but we'll see I guess. I'm after some 19s but the ones I want are both expensive and quite hard to get hold of. Pipe dreams me thinks.

I'm gonna start refurbing the LCR Brembos to sell and that'll fund the rear brake conversion and rear axle refurb. On with the next project....

I think I've got some pictures of a 312 front disc on the rear using the standard caliper if you want me to put them up? Shows the bracket used but doesn't give measurements.

I'll go on record and say that I wish I forked out the £2k for the ECS BBK, rather than sourcing all the parts myself. EVERYTHING is fighting me

So with a need to shim and reposition the bolt holes slightly, I did this:

Three attempts later to shim the caliper rearwards slightly got the perfect fitment. In the process however, it shredded one of the threads on the hub... FFS (think that's the first time I've sworn on print on my RR thread)... In the rain and sleet, I re-helicoiled the thread. Job done. Then I discovered that the outer facing brake pad is fouling the bell by a few mms, so I'm gonna have to sand down the front lip before fitment, but then that's it for the passenger side... On to the drivers side then... Looking good mind :p

You're not quite correct! The bracket is designed for 334mm (using an R32 disc) one direction, 350mm (using a Merc Vento Disc) the other direction. On first fitment, the disc outer edge fouled the inside of the caliper. I had to mill the bolt holes out 3 or 4mm to achieve correct fitment. What a PITA that was!

ah yes your right.. The chap I bought the bracket off also said that lol but he had modded the ecs ones too which fit the 356mm but there was no way getting the specs for the disk.

since he had designed thr bracket hes is kind enough to help me with thr rear upgrade too.. 4 pots and the parking caliper

What master cylinder are you going to use? I thought about putting 4 pots on the rear with a seperate parking caliper but I don't think the standard master cylinder will cope.

Ah I see what you mean! What break pad did you choose to go with them? On my old ATE setup the brake pad was super aggressive and would grind at lower speeds [probably due to the grooves as well]. The down side also was that you didnt get the majority of the performance until you got some heat into them which wasnt great for town journeys. I dont think you will have that issue anyway.

Whatever agreement Porsche have with Brembo bloody works because they are always amazing brakes on all porsches. I am sure that will translate well with your car too! Remaps are a must for LCRs, changes the car completely. We should meet up at some point [sure some of the chaps on here wouldnt mind seeing your car either! aka DK, Tom, JamesW].
