It's stiffer and more sprightly and a much better drive than the mk2 Leon Cupra/R. Still some wheel hop mind. Definite step up from the mk6 golf and mk2 Leon though :)

Nor me. Guessing you are gonna go with the Mk3 Leon Cupra then Ryan?

Being honest the spec is exactly exactly where it needed to be. Shame they never pulled their finger out sooner or I would have probably bought one too.

All options still open tbh Al. I will certainly give the Cupra my full attention before making my mind up.

If you aren't in a rush to change that would be the best option. I've been without my own car since May and couldn't wait any longer. Shame as it seems the Leon will be a GTi on steroids, better equipped and cheaper, available as quickly and with stuff Cupra's have never had before. Can't figure out why they haven't been shouting from the rooftops before now.

Yeah maybe waiting for the more expensive VAG stablemates to get their limelight and command better margins.

Weirdly the Golf R is less than 3k more than the GTi with the diff. I guess the price for the Cupra will be key for many. Can't see it being much different to the Golf GTi - snag will be depreciation on the Leon I guess as they will ultimately be more discounted to buy - and with this and the extra power/toys there will be more of them sold. Having said that you'd save loads on options like DCC as standard, bigger brakes etc. It would all probably work out in the end with regard to the financial bit.

Shame seat never had a man/woman on the groin on here to speak to us all and again - keeping it all a secret!

Thanks for posting the Spec Sheet Scott, looks like the Danes are getting a good spec, guessing ours will be similar but you never know, the Alarm will defo be standard of course in the UK. Looking forward to seeing the final spec and inparticular the 19" alloys.

No probs Rob.

I drove the GTI a while back (without the performance pack / dynamic chassis) the handling felt bloody great to me. Expecting the Cupra (in particular the SC) to be significantly better than that. With the power on tap it's going to feel like the leap I found from the MK1 R to the MK2 Cupra all over again (and then some). :)

Yeah I bet it will. Was actually saying to Ryan earlier that I preferred driving the GTi to the s3. Hope I haven't been too hasty and made the wrong decision.

Quick and dirty photoshop of the potential colour scheme for the Cup Racing paint option. Also amended the slats and removed the fogs as per recent spy shots.

A bit too dark and rough, not 100% happy but it's Christmas and I need to go to bed!

I have tidied up the leaked spec list. This was from SEAT.DK so there may be some variations on the final UK spec cars. This is for the SC.

PDF Spec Sheet

Scott

The standard spec
Does look quite good , no mention about the brembo brakes in the options list ?
Maybe they will be offered with the additional
Side skirts and roof spoiler?

With the Astra VXR standard on brembos would have thought the new Cupra would offer something similar as standard ?
What does the new golf R and S3 offer as standard ?
