Took my car in for a service, mot, aircon service, replacement coil packs, both belts and waterpump.

Then i was told there is no point them doing the mot yet as its going to fail on a dodgy headlight bracket, damaged nsr spring, broken exhaust bracket and its going to cost over £900 to fix the steering rack,:scary: i never had any problems with the steering.

I'd be seriously getting a second opinion ;)

+1 - take it to your local council place and get them to MOT it after you sort the broken spring, exhaust hanger and headlight bracket.

What did they say was wrong with the steering rack?

(Not so) Sunny Hastings
(Yesterday) new dipstick+ tube fitted, both vac/breather lines on inlet manifold
Today, fitted a new tyre, to stop that awful bearing type noise (cheap rubbish tyre fitted before) ordered 2 strut mounts+bearings, so I can lower the front soon:)
Got my old inlet mani back from the engineer, might have to refit due to leaky 8/10mm port on the current one
