Its been good so far, only had a few drives to test it as mostly i've been in the boring rush hour jams where boost is of no help
First is spot on at the moment on the damp roads though, can quickly nail it out of a junction and keep it just on the limit of traction giving me a quick start
Not had chance to scan or log it yet but feels ok, only thing i have noticed is if i give it a couple of miles of thrappage and catch traffic/stop, i can smell a horrible burningy smell which goes after a few minutes
Also i booted it the other day with a friend following and he said it stank of cat, DIY decat coming i think and hopefully this may allow the adding of timing top end too

Burning smell could be the high temp boost hose off the turbo hot side. My original has a small tear which when hot expanded and leaked oil vapour near the manifold, it still held boost though :s worth a check

I would hope that hose is ok as i replaced it with the forge fluorosilicone one a few years ago
When i get some time i'll give it a check though

Helped Seal fit his FMIC too and had someone else drop a cupra tdi over for me to look at, which was easily the most neglected leon ive seen

The audi is coming in as a fix up and flog on, i have a nice shed of spares to use now too
Failing its relatively cheap fix, it will be broken, even has the AGU lump

The new mini project was picked up tonight (and for an obscenely low price too)

I'll get some other pics later in daylight and work will start on this as well as some overhauling of the LCR next weekend

It seems again its the time of year for everything to start breaking again
The other rear wheel bearing is now making a horrific hum, replaced the other side last october
The thermostat is stuck open so on a fast drive the temp gauge starts to drop
Add to that the return to my swimming pool car this evening, did 3 doors when resealing but ran out of time to do the 4th and forgot about it.
I've noticed majority of the water is in the passenger front footwell and wonder if when mapped and the scuttle panel was removed, the little removable piece may not be fitted and leaked through the pollen filter, so interior out tomorrow
Also my poly'd wishbones will be coming off the car in the next few weeks for something a little different

being a "newbie" i dont think im aloud to advertise it yet. cant find the SELL section anyway so im assuming thats why... this site is hard enough to negotiate as it is, let alone having that rule!
will try again with it another time. its on autotrader for now.

anyway, i had the water problem a few years back. took me ages to work out what it was. had all the door seals off and everything, but all it was was that the pollen filter had been put back in a tiny bit bent and this c0cked it all up. water seeped in and hey presto - mouldy mats.
check that first mate, make sure its all in perfect, no bent flaps etc. that should see you right.
