You want to see the state of mine. Found a local company last night that are quoting £65 to strip repair and powder coat. May be contacting them in the new year.

Feel your pain
Cheers mate. swerved to avoid a Virgin van who decided he wanted ALL of the road by our house and misjudged how close I was to kerb-which slopes outwards at that point for some strange reason-old type square faced kerbs if you know what I mean. gutted. the car wasn't the only thing that was blue at that point! Hey,

I caught the kerb (seems like a current trend) the other day... made a loud grinding sound and scuffed them up a bit - no excuse I was being lazy.

However, I have a horrible feeling lately that the steering is really light... For example I'm going over a bump in the road and it feels as if I have to hold the wheel a lot more. Or if I put my foot down, its like the steering wants to go off to one side. Obviously in this weather its more slippy, but doesn't feel right.

Not sure if i'm being paranoid and thinking about it too much, but could that happen after clipping the kurb?

N.B. Front left alloy/wheel.

Maybe knocked the tracking out. Does the car drive straight and true on a straight flat road?

Check tracking, tread depths and pressures.

Brought the wife to her internship place again like usual, then brought the Leon to the garage for big maintenance.

My maintenance book says the big maintenance should be at 50.000 kilometers, but mine's been losing
some oil lately at about 48000 kilometers, so I decided to bring it in early.

Got my car aligned and all sorted now and for £15 :D

Personally i think the issue with my car after the kerb hit was the suspension top mount and not the wheel bearing housing and bearig but oh well

fitted my gloss black mirror covers. Now they match my wheels

Just to point out that removing the mirror caps can be very hard indeed if you use fingernails or credit cards and you can damage the edge of them. I found that if I adjusted the mirror glass in as far as it would go I could get a screwdriver down behind the glass and release one of the little plastic tangs that hold the cover on. Once one is released the cover almost falls off.

Found out the girlfiend has bought me some BBS CH now. Looking forward to see what they will look like, although i'm not sure whether I should paint them gloss black or go for a slightly less common gunmetal grey?
