When the pump arrives back and fitted it has 1 years guarantee and if I have any problems with the sensor failing or breaking I have my email and my previous posts as proof that the pump was not satisfactory the first time I received it.

As for being a rebuild pump with new internals yeah that part I agree with although for £430 I would've liked the exterior finish to be to a much higher standard.
Lets hope it performs as it should then that's the end if it.

I contacted Evan at APR via text on Sunday and never got a reply.

Kev, Evan is currently in the USA due to family reasons im not going to go any further into it.

Keith and Amanda are at APR HQ currently to speak to

I didn't go to them awesome Gti shipped it to me.
Supposedly they checked it and APR would've checked it.
Very poor

Hey Kev I'm back--sorry for the lack of response, but as AJB mentioned I was out of the country for family reasons.

This is very simple. We offer two ways to purchase our upgraded fuel pump: new or rebuilt. However, offering to rebuild a fuel pump quickly is a challenge with the only apparatus in the world that can test these pumps how we do is located at our USA HQ. In America, our customers or distributors will send us their pumps, they get rebuilt and then returned and this process generally takes 3-5 business days leaving the vehicle inoperable for that period of time. Operating from Europe extends this timeline considerably, so what we do for our customers and distributors is collect fully-functioning, used pumps, have them sent off to be rebuilt and then returned for inventory--this allows you as a UK customer to purchase a rebuilt pump immediately, saving you the money from a brand new pump and minimising vehicle down-time others experience for the rebuild process.

The pump you have has been tested and is fully functional and warrantied--this is a lifetime warranty to the original customer, not 1 year from purchase date (not sure where that information came from).

If you feel this is poor service, we can offer a third option where you return the rebuilt pump you've purchased and are unhappy with, mail us your actual pump and we will begin the rebuild process. Please note this can take 7-10 business days or more.

I'm sorry for any miscommunication. It's typically the responsibility of the distributor to relay this information. I don't know if it was or not, but I presume by your posts that it likely wasn't and I will review the importance of this to all of our distributors this week.

Again, I'm back in the UK now so feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to take us up on this third option.

Thanks for the reply Evan
Nobody said about the warranty I just assumed it would be 1 year.

If the pump returns and works fine that's it.
I just expected the pump to look new as most recon/rebuild stuff does.
My only concern is that the sensor has been moved.
I tried the sensor on my original pump and the sensor didn't rotate and seemed fixed to the nut.
As we know these sensors can't be purchased seperately so fingers crossed there's not weakness since its been adjusted by Awesome.
Lets face it we know how fragile these sensors are by the amount of oem pumps going for sale without the top sensor intact.

Can't praise the AA enough, they were excellent! The guy diagnosed my car and I got Fault code P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected. The AA man followed me all the way back to Liverpool from Warrington, didn't take the revs over 2000 so it was okay, although I could still feel the misfiring.

The car is now at the dealers. He said 'We'll try and get it diagnosed by the end of tomorrow'. I said ok, as long as I have my car back for saturday. 'Oh I can't guarantee that, I'll try but we're really busy with people having services and that'. The typical dealer response you'd expect really!

Should be having a call tomorrow morning regarding a hire car for me, doubt it will happen though because of my age. Which if it doesn't I'll be having words with seat as its age discrimination imo!

I assume it's at SEAT Liverpool? Let me know how they turn out to be, were a bit **** when I went with my warranty complaints.

Your assumption is correct. It's the best place in terms of location because I'm only 500 metres from it. If it went to Warrington (where it broke down) then I'd have had problems getting to and from to collect it.

I'm hoping its all sorted okay, not got much faith to be honest

If the AA man followed you from Warrington then surely you could have just left it at Warrington seat and got the AA to take you to Liverpool? If I was in Warrington and my only two options were Liverpool or London seat, I would rather walk back from London than let Liverpool get their grubby hands on my car. No doubt they will fix the misfire on cylinder 4 but will return it with a misfire on 1,2 and 3. Good luck though :)

Haha but then I'd have to get back to Warrington some how.

I know you have a dislike for liverpool seat. If they complete this job properly with no further damage to my car then they may be used again. If they mess it up I will be letting everyone know and I won't be returning.

I think as a nation we're all too polite. We don't complain enough when companies to bad jobs, and they have no incentive to improve or have good customer service because they know they'll always have custom anyway.

But hopefully I won't have to do that, it'll be alright! *crosses fingers*
