That would have been Mr OCD's saga....BOUNCY !!! He's now trying LCR set-up,maybe ??
Look forward to measurements to gauge against mine.

Hi again mate,

Just done some measurements for you, with regards to measuring, I was not sure if you meant right to the very top of the wheel arches or just along the outer arch where the paint work is but I have done 2 sets of measurements for you so here you go:

FRONT, to the point on the arch where the paint work is - 67cm (the driver's side measures at 66cm, most likely because the new springs still need to settle)

REAR, to the point on the arch where the paint work is - 66cm both sides
.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
FRONT, to the very top of the inner wheel arch - 72cm (again, drivers side measures at 71cm at the moment)

REAR, to the very top of the wheel arch - 78cm both sides

I hope this is some use to you mate :)

Liam

Just replaced the rear door seals, couldn't do the front as I couldn't find my t20 torx for the bottom screws.
I then gave it a damn good needed wash

Fitted a new TIP, boost hose set, n75 hose set, crankcase breather hose (which was FUBAR and fell appart in my hands) and new vacume hoses for the DV. All in blue and from creation motorsports.

What a pain to fit the TIP! Whole job took 4 hours.

Thanks mate, try and save up as best as you can - I was on a budget and I got the KW 40mm lowering springs for £148 delivered from DPM Performance and I got Bilstein B4 shocks (the sport ones with 22-045751 & 19-029177 part numbers) for £188 delivered off eBay. So that is around £336 altogether.

You can lower on an even cheaper budget using JOM coilovers which I think can be had for around £170 off DPM too. I was originally going to lower mine on these JOM coilovers all round and purchased the kit but last week my mate managed to talk me out of fitting them to my car (claims that the ride will be more uncomfortable on coilovers, as opposed to upgraded shocks & separate lowering springs which will still retain a lot of comfort) as he desperately wanted them to fit onto his Leon and so he purchased them off me instead.

Therefore, as I wanted to keep the ride as comfortable as possible I decided to splash out a bit more money on brand new shocks & the lowering springs, and so far I'm glad I did.

The JOM's are meant to be the best coilover kit for beginners and for the money they are supposed to be really good, loads of people on here have got them fitted.

its not just the cash mate, the speed bumps down my road already scrape my splitter so a static drop is not an option.

Dropped the car off for its major service, cambelt, water pump, spark plugs and other usual bits. Add to that now after a phone call, front discs, new pads and a wheel bearing. This is going to cost me big time lol

Got the car back from its major service and although it cost me a pretty penny the car runs like a dream now. They even gave it a thorough once over inside and out by the valet, so looks even better as well. Mind you I do have a nice list of other stuff that could do with being looked at... More expense.
