Extremely depressed that i can be insured on a polo/fabia/ibiza 1.4tsi 180bhp dsg for the same price (ish) as my standard 1.2tsi leon with 105bhp and a manual gearbox
In that case i shall get over it!
Me and my dad spent last night working out the costs of switching mine to a 1.6tdi. Since i'm going to university my mileage will be all motorway from now on, pretty much, and we worked out a fuel saving of £900 a year, insurance was exactly the same. But the cost to change the car would be a few grand, so not worth it! Just accept 33mpg on motorway

Haha i don't like going too slow on the motorway.. It may be 35. Check my fuelly i can't remember! I'll have to drive at 60mph and then i may acheive 45mpg!
I'll get 35 at 80mph just following the outside lane on the A1, so 70 will prpbably see 40mpg. Nothing wrong with the car, it's my right foot!
thinking about giving the FR a wash... a bird **** on it, and now im going all rage face about it.
but cant be arsed to get my gear out. blurghhhh.
Slow down the dude you would see a lot more money in your pocket
Yeah but with your 1.2 you don't need the engine changed every service, just the oil and filters.
Today I changed the mounts and the rubber "bushings" from the plastic motor cover with the engine airfilter assembly. 4 Pcs of bushing and 4 counterparts that are attached to motor.
If you ever had taken the plastic cover out you know what I am talking about.
It seems that Last time my car has received maintenance and the "mechanics" had removed the cover and changed the airfilter they also destroyed all those parts. 2 rubber bushings were missing and all of the counterparts were damaged so that the cover would not lock into its mounting.
It would have been quite an easy repair but 2 counter parts were tight as hell and It took me 60min atleast to take one of them out. (they were the ones in the back of the engine mounted in some sort of heat shield).
Parts cost 55€ so quite expensive since those were so little simple parts.
Damn im gonna go today and have a "nice" little chat with the mechanic that did the job.
