Found it

Step 1: Connect up to VCDS/VAGCOM in the usual manner, then select Instruments under the Select Control Module menu.

Step 2: Select the Coding sub-menu

Step 3: Select Long Coding Helper

Step 4: Select Byte 0 Bit 4.7 drop-down menu then select 10 Country: Rest of World (RoW)

Step 5: Exit Long coding helper then hit "Do it"

That's all you have to do on VCDS/VAGCOM but now you will have to change your MFD Settings, Units menu to the correct UK format from US format (imperial to metric).

Step 6: Un-tick the Alt.speed dis to activate the "Alternative Speed Display"

Step 7: Final stage - Change your units for Consumption to MPG and Temp to ˚C.

AndrewJB,

I've just tried this but now my KM/H has gone, and it just shows the temp where it used to be.
I re-ticked the "Alt. Speed dis" and it goes back to KM/H.

Any ideas?

Filled up with fuel. £75 as the light had just come on telling me I had 50 mile range left. Whilst I was there some bloke was putting fuel in a Lambo Gallardo. My brother looked over, spotted the amount and loudly exclaimed "20 quid in a Lambo...you tight c**t!". As we had the windows open he must have heard. He looked up, appeared all embarrassed, got in and drove off..:D

It was mad aware to myself that i should maybe look at getting the part behind my number plate done in black gloss (same as rims, roof, mirrors and spoiler as of thursday). Ran up a quick picture of this on paint and just wanted peoples thoughts ? I really like makes the rear stand out a lot more and appear more fresh!

I've seen this on a few now and it looks really good IMHO. I've been thinking of doing it for ages too just don't trust myself not to screw it up!:(

Took the Leon out of the drive for the first time in a week. Had a good bit of fun.

Then dumped off the kids and having myself a few pints for the first time in...more than a year? :)

Getting trashed tonight and dreaming of my upcoming APR trip ;)

not sure if the golf kit would fit, i asked forge about an Octavia kit to fit to my old FR they said hose length was a problem

im looking to go stage 2 maybe 2+ in the new year, so i know i would need to upgrade the intercooler system! saw this and thought it could be a potential piece of kit. but now you say that, ive heard that before when people have complained about having to trim their forge hoses for their twintercooler.

Just finished fitting my new bulbs interior and exterior! Really happy with both the MTEC and the Osram (so similar I think) From the pictures the Osram bulbs appear brighter but the MTEC i think gives off more clear and sharp white light! Think I'll be sticking with the MTECs for that reason! Interior bulbs great result! nothing much more to say.

i have the MTEC cosmos blue, i think they are great for appearance. no where near as good as the ring ultima i had previously, or the night breakers but a suitable substitute and great value for money.
