Cars passed its MOT
Also bought an S3 side engine cover to tidy up the bay (don't think I'll ever be finished with it).

Trial fitted:

D.K kindly provided me with a template of his so I could extend it to fit:

I've given it a couple of coats of primer to help pick out all the blemishes so I can get it all smoothed and ready to be fitted. I've bought a donor set of wishbones that I'm going to clean up, polybush and then swap with mine, a new splitter because mines battered and I can't turn up at VW Festival with it in that state and I've also ordered a 5.5 litre windscreen wash bottle from Audi so the S3 cover fits properly:

I've got the S3 battery tray and cover, but not sure if I'm going to fit it or not. i think i prefer the LCR one.

:)

I've decided I don't like the look of the intercooler pipes and the silver you can see through the grills so I bought a sheet of plastic and cut to pieces to size to cover the backs.

Quite pleased with how they've came out. I've also decided to get rid of the cold air feed from the fogs, so I'm going to pick up some smaller foglights tomorrow that won't foul on the intercooler pipework. I'm also going to make a new heatshield for the filter that'll fit slightly better.

Good idea with the lower grills but me personally like the piping showing.

Them S3 trays I enquiried about the battery one but it need substantial modifying to fit a LCR, will the other cover be the same. I like the idea of these trays. Saves cleaning the engine bay.

Nice work Richard, as always!

The S3 cover will really compliment the engine bay. How are you going to finish it? D.K.'s template seems to be very good in achieving a really good fit.

Look forward to seeing it finished :)

Both covers need modded to fit an LCR, I've got the S3 battery tray and cover too but I'm not going to fit it, I prefer the LCR battery cover. I'm also considering relocating the battery to the boot.

Cheers James, S3 cover will be gloss black to match the other covers. Do you not fancy selling me your old OEM engine cover with out the holes in to smarten my bay up? ;)

I did this last year, but earlier this month decided to paint the pipes black and it worked a treat you cant see anything now.

On the TT and S3 they have ducting to flow air through to the brakes, the leon however (with the biggest and more powerful brakes doesnt)
The air to cool the brakes is pulled from inside the wheel, from the wishbone area which the leon has much better airflow to than the S3

Fitted the 5.5l wash bottle today:

which meant I could properly trial fit the S3 cover:

Also ordered some poly bushes for the wishbones, just waiting on them to turn up.
