Just applied paint to my various blemishes. Well, except one really long one along the drivers and passenger doors, which I'll make a right mess of if I try to do that. It looks much better already.

Waiting until it's time to do the lacquer now.

On that note, what's the right thinner for cleaning the brush? White Spirit doesn't seem to be doing the job.

White spirit should do the job, I cleaned oil based caliper paint off my brushes with it yesterday and Friday!

You'll need to recharge and put a load of leak tracer dye in mate.
Silly thing with aircon is you vac the system then it checks for leaks which have usually sucked together so never detected.

135MPH

On a private runway at 03:45 this morning.

And it seemed to be still going too but I bottled it and slowed down.

ill be interested to know what my FR will do flat out . . . ive had teh clocks showing 135, but GPS showing 121.
there is a genuine private runway not too far from me, but its not great surface. anything over 60 and it starts to loose grip and start skipping!

the system i use, charges then checks for leaks, only problem is it wont pick up anything too big as its pressure related and the pressure builds up alright.
i didnt charge the UV dye as my uv light has ran out of battery lol but i can hear it comming when i wiggle the switch.

i just hope its the switch has gone tits up and not the actual pipe decide to split.

Yep, deffo only KPH on mine. I thought it was to do with the fact that my regular speedo only shows MPH so it was a legal thing for driving in other countries.

How do I enable this?

ROW IIRC then go back into the MFD, theres a setting that says something like "Display digiital readout" which needs to be turned off, then go to country settings, set everything back to UK

And there ya go

Il try to find the proper instructions and mine arent that clear

Found it

Step 1: Connect up to VCDS/VAGCOM in the usual manner, then select Instruments under the Select Control Module menu.

Step 2: Select the Coding sub-menu

Step 3: Select Long Coding Helper

Step 4: Select Byte 0 Bit 4.7 drop-down menu then select 10 Country: Rest of World (RoW)

Step 5: Exit Long coding helper then hit "Do it"

That's all you have to do on VCDS/VAGCOM but now you will have to change your MFD Settings, Units menu to the correct UK format from US format (imperial to metric).

Step 6: Un-tick the Alt.speed dis to activate the "Alternative Speed Display"

Step 7: Final stage - Change your units for Consumption to MPG and Temp to ˚C.

Done, Thanks very much. That's much better.

Should have been that way from the factory.

Would have been better, but like Andrew says above, because KPH isn't on the speedo, it needs to be displayed some other way.

On another note, not today but yesterday, finished my best ever tank on 786 miles with 20 miles indicated remaining. 66.8MPG. :D

For anyone following the saga of my stonechips and car-park damage (just me, then) - lacquer applied a few hours back, and even now, having not even bought the t-cut yet, it looks a million times better. You have to know where the damage is and be looking for it to see anything.

Quite a result given the mess I made last time I tried to repair a paint chip :funk:
