Been busy couple of days, dropped monty to Mark @ Owen Developments to work his magic....

After a little bit of playing 410hp @ 1bar but it wasn't peaking just hitting the limiter which was set at 7,500. This is with both XE cams on standard marks.

More playing and retarded the inlet camshaft 7 deg saw 428hp and brought the midrange up loads....

Which is where it was left, I was happy enough and headed to Owens to pick Monty up... I stated I never wanted it over 450 due to head etc...

On pick up Mark said he had been playing a bit more and got 447.7 HP @ 7214rpm (147mph) with 346.4 lbft @ 6333rpm @ 1.3bar

IMO this shows a great graph and Marks mapping skills :)

Only problem is the turbo bolts to manifold worked there way loose :( But tightened them back up and all was good.....

Popped to see Steve and have a chat.... Found this had been stuck on the car?

Which flew off on the way home lol

Then it was off for a good friday night drive with a few friends...

All I can say is the car is "interesting" :D

Talking to Mark about the turbo to manifold bolts, he said use exhaust paste and loose the gasket so this was todays job :(

Bye bye

Used longer bolts and fitted nuts to help hold them tight...

Changed boost clamps to "Murray constant tension" clamps as I wasn't happy how the other looked at the front and were dangerous IMO..

All back together

Then I thought I would take last nights logs off the dash..

All looking good, nice intake temps between 19-22 during the drive. EGT's were good too. So happy all is looking well.

Made couple changes to the dash display

Thats all for now :)

Its puts power down better in 4th gear but its FWD so it will always spin alot

P.s love how the old car makes a mug of the newer rs lol

Cheers

Today I took him to get geometry setup correctly and corner weighted...

Total weight, before he was setup. Raised him 10mm at front and 15mm at back.

After setup, showing 50.1% split across diagonal axis. Could ask for better really..

Alignment was miles out had positive camber....

Setting's were left at:

Caster +3 deg
Camber -1.5 deg
Toe set to 0.5mm toe in

Time for a wash:

How do you choose what to drive?

Heads of tales? Or play rock paper Scissors with your self ? Lol

How you finding them new clamps? Been told to get them by sfs but not sure on them, what you think?

Funny you say that, depends on the mood although its a hard choice, normall Astra as I don't leave monty anywhere due to the valve of everything on him! Either i'm driving it or he is in the garage!

Really good, would highly advise using them!

Just amazing Dale. I'v really enjoyed following your work so far. I just can't imagine how this must feel on the road. I had a Vauxhall Corsa 1.4S many many years ago whilst at uni and it was a great little car, really fun to drive and really reliable. Good times :D

Do you think you'll be tracking it, or is it just going to be a weekend road car? kind of a shame that it would be put on the track when it is in such top condition... But that's just my thoughts.

Keep up the top work :)

They are good little cars but body kits and Chav ruined them like the nova, shame really!!

It's been on track fair few times already, planning on doing one next month if I can!

Cheers
