The original plan was to do engine and gearbox with turbo etc all in one go
But as per usual things couldnt go to plan, the downpipe is very restricted for access due to the prop.
With the subframe now off the prop can be easily accessed and undone but the downpipe is still going to be a swine.
Being as i have to take the borrowed engine crane back tomorrow, the plan is drill the mani bolts, head off then turbo off and downpipe off.
Sump off drop the crank, rods and pistons then have a jack under the block then undo and man handle the gearbox off by hand.
The block can then be taken off by hand.
Had problems with with all of the exhaust system as the bolts arent bolts anymore theyre just lumps of rust
I will be buying a plasma cutter welder soon but need to clear the cost of the car first before making anymore purchases.
I'm in no major rush and should have the rest of my stroker kit soon so more to think about

Oi thats slander!! You and your blue rubber gloves, lightly powdered. :gay: i had the glove to stop my wound dripping blood every where. :moon:

Girly soft skin allows cuts, i did crack out the nitrile gloves when doing the brakes as brake fluid isnt good
Im not sure if i just shredded my arms or i got lightly sunburnt today too

I've started to install my wmi and fancy one of the s3 washer bottles to increase my wmi capacity and swap out my 3 litre. Will it fit in my lcr without issue and can you get blanks to blank off the headlamp washer pump hole.

Yes the 5.5l bottles are a straight fit
The bottles have 2 pumps at the bottom that then feed to the washer jets, i can get you some pics of the bottle if you want

Thats great, thanks. Pics would be appreciated. Would the left hand s3 engine bay cover work on the LCR as your fitting the larger washer bottle.

It does yes as the filler cap on the bigger bottle is situated in the correct place to suit the cut out.
There is also a bracket that is required by the expansion tank to secure the top cover.
If you PM me your email i'll get some pics and the part numbers for you tomorrow

Today i made up a little tool to try and drill out these PITA exhaust mani studs
2012-03-13165350.jpg

Its made from a BS4 centre drill and 1/2" bar and then hardened just got to hope i dont snap it now as i have done with so many others.
I'll post up how i get on with it for those who also struggle getting these bolts out

A change of plans update... again
Garrett GT2871R setup now sold, decided it was too small for a stroked 4WD project so going bigger now
I'll say what the turbo is when its launched and available
Also bought a set of these to replace the 3 i lost on the track, but i wont fit until my wheels have been powder coated (next month hopefully)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300570447238?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Also ordered myself a 3/4 size front plate from fancy plates ready for the arrival of my large FMIC.
Finally tried to order a fixed rigid tow eye but the colour i wanted seemsto have disappeared so i've emailed the seller asking if they have any left or could get one.
Been speaking to Issam too about some bling parts to rebuild this largeport head and after doing some interweb browsing too i may look into changing lifters and making a crazy revving engine

Looking into the 500's now instead high 300's
Its the same tow eye i'm looking at that you have but no longer seem to list red as an option unless you buy from the US for £50

Maybe
Just been looking through the packages Issam does as this AEB head will need building from scratch, with the extra money from selling the Garrett i could rebuild the head at the same time as stroking
Then bed in very safely on the little K04 and when ready and before/after 4wd is in strap a big mutha to it

500 HAS TO be through 4 wheels and defo not 2 as that would be pointless.

TBH alot of BT FWD LCR's still struggle against stage 2 cars at pod etc because it's impossible to get power down... So this makes sense.

Glad this is going to be 4WD.
