Your wheel refurb skills have pushed me on, got the 996's out the shred and started the sanding.

Think I've settled on Crackle black faces and barrels now, but still a fan of the Meteor Grey centres aswel

You having gloss black barrels/polished lips then... What colour centres you doing?

haha good man. Good to see I'm inspiring someone

Crackle black will look awesome man, will be a bitch to keep clean though lol.

I'm going for Audi Daytona grey! Barrels I went for black, because they're hardy seen, and black will hide most of the dirt lol

Its going to look great :)

When are your wheels going on?

you got one fab bora there mate! nice ride and all the mods looks sexy as well!

Thanks man, appreciate it :)

Got them from Plate my ride, in Germany! Couldn't find anyone in the UK that made shortened pressed plates. Price was ok, but the service was great, at first they printed my plate in US font instead of UK, told them, and got a new plate within 4-5 days :)

I know it's illegal, but I'm not that bothered, better this than no plate lol! Attaching it with magnets so can take it on and off whenever :)

I wouldnt worry about the plate, Ive drove around for over 3 years with my pressed plates which were German DIN font so the '0' has a slash in it. Even had a police officer run his finger through the slash bit and nothing was said or done about it.

INTERESTED!!! Tell us if/when they fall off. Never seen that done before....

Got a couple of n42 grade, 25 x 10 x10mm rectangular neodymium magnets for behind the bumper, and then n52 grade (apparently the strongest grade) the same size but 2mm depth for behind the plate so it doesn't protrude too far out.
They look small but they're unbelievably strong, held through an inch of glass when I was playing with them, 6-7mm of plastic bumper shouldn't be an issue.

In the grand scheme of things, there are far worse plates. Might fail an MOT but I doubt you'd be pulled over for it, tbh.
Yeah its not bad compared to what I've seen before. Got normal plates for mot anyway :)

I'm not worried about being caught at all, I've been running with no plate, or it displayed in the window for 3 months with no problems. :)

I should be ok, most coppers that have stopped me before are sound. But yeah as you say, will be keeping a spare one in the boot.

The plate would be illegal because it doesn't have the manufacturers name and postcode printed at the bottom, and as Lily says, should have a space between Y7 and RPB

Cheers man, nailed it

You going UD?

The spacing's a legal requirement too iirc Phil? Y(space)7(space)(space)R(space)P(space)B

...Regardless, I love the plate Arun :)

Yep. Cheers brah, it's ok I suppose

Just realised, this thread is 52 pages long haha, and only about 5-10 pages are about the car

The plates look great, as said above. I bought some pressed plates last year, but haven't fitted them. The most amount of letters/numbers they could fit on a 3/4 sized plate was six. Would love a 3/4 length pressed plate on the front; enough to justify private plates  ...hahah.

Look forward to seeing them on the car :)

When I had my germ plates on I had my legal (albeit trimmed so illegal) in the boot armed with the line 'oh sorry I was just taking some photos and forgot to change the plates back'

Never gut pulled though before I changed them back to British presses plates.

Car is absolutely stunning, it looked wicked at Santa pod in October and now it's just

Love the US bumper and those barrels have come up extremely well, looks very professional and it was done with a rattle cat!

Hats off to you sir! Fantastic work

lol, I've not even displayed a plate at the front atm, looks so good without it
Might just run without from now on!

Don't think I'll get pulled round here tbh, I know plenty of people that don't run plates. I've got plenty of excuses for them

Cheers man, I take it you were on the IOC stand?

I've also heard of having cable ties through your front grille and a spare front in the boot. Then if you get pulled say it must have fallen off I'll put the spare on.

Also check this out

I'm not putting tacky cable ties on my car

I looked into them motorised holders, they're cool, but pretty useless to me as I'd rip it off just going down my street lol.

Thought so. I won't be on the IOC stand this year showing everyone up, thought that would be unfair  ;)

Picked her up again today after having the bonnet done. Smooth as a babies bottom
