Dare I say the word - replica?

We live in a throw away society and I couldn't justify £900 on a set of wheels (no tyres) when I won't have the car long enough or have the same set up on the next car to use the fitment.

I would like either Staggered CH's, Subaru PP7's/Inovit Redlines or Comp Mo 18's.

It's hard when not alot of wheels suit the LCR shape!

That's a solid point hence why it makes it a bit more tricky to decide on whether to go for a new set or not. Think the issue isn't getting a set of wheels to look good on the LCR but to get a good looking set to actually FIT.............blasted brembos!!

I couldn't have replicas! I just couldn't put them on the car personally.

I know it's frustrating though, because they cost so much money. But a rep is weaker and more likely to split if you hit a pothole aswell.

I'd refurb 1st in a different colour or whichever you choose, then see how happy you are with it.

I'm not getting new wheels. It's a step too far with this car now. I need to spend the money elsewhere on it.

Will definitely be doing the refurb and seeing how I am with it then. If I decide I still want new wheels then the hunt will begin ;)

Ultimate Street Car 2011

Haven't been too active on my thread for a little while. To be honest all I have been doing is checking over everything to ensure all is well and simply enjoying it.

We decided last minute to attend Ultimate Street Car this year, we tend to go every year but some of the cars in the Team GTR group had some issues so we didn't know whether we would be able to go this year. Last minute dash we managed to get the cars ready and headed up there for the weekend. All in all it was a good show, apart from all the pill heads and excessive drunks (really not my thing and personally feel it spoils the overall mood).

Along with plenty of booze, chilling and general socializing we managed to get quite a few runs in. The advantages of staying the weekend is you can race early morning and then late in the evening when most leave so you don't have to wait ages in queues.

The Leon did me very proud with a very consistent performance. Didn't want to go too crazy with it as it's the first time I'm racing it with all the mods and didn't fancy breaking anything. Even still I kept getting low 14s on every run. There's loads of pics but below are some of my favs. I have also found some really good ones that Blackett Photography have taken so will be ordering those when I get a chance.

great looking car it reminds me of my first cupra how much have you spent on the mods up to now:D

Thanks mate. Errrr total costs..............I do't think I actually want to add it up to be honest ;) Don't think it's anything too major though as I have managed to do a lot of the work myself with help from my mates. Good to have mates in this field that's for sure!!

Cheers mate. Its the Raceland Adjustable Strut Brace. Not sure if they still do them or not. It is very close to the engine cover unlike the S3 strut brace which many go for. I use to have a forge carbon cover but had to take it off as the strut brace wouldn't fit. Doesn't bother me anymore as I prefer it how it all looks now

Cheers matey. The VXR got errrrr.............. killed :p Hopefully one of us got that on camera. My mate use to have one a few years back and we raced each other. Standard against standard and he beat me by less than half a second. Time time round I beat this one by somewhat, need to check my time slips to see how much by. All in all I managed to beat the VXR, Toyota Corolla gt4, fully stripped pug (I think it was a pug, I didn't look much and he didn't want to chat much after). Only cars that beat me was the Subaru and R32 Skyline GTR in the pics above so can't complain too much

Thanks mate. Yeah same here, not been on the forum too much partly because I'm just enjoying the car (I know I sound like a right geek)

Good man, you won't be disappointed for sure mate both with the coilovers and George :D
