"Granny shifting not Double Clutching like you should" explain...

Okay, so double clutching is when you hit the clutch, bring it out of gear (in neutral), release the clutch, rev your engine, hit the clutch again, and stick it into gear. This saves your synchronizers but you'd only do it when you are downshifting. Using it in a 1/4 mile race would just waste time.

Granny shifting is regular shifting clutch in select gear clutch out!

I thought this was what it was, but i dont get why you would want to rev UP your engine when your DOWNshifting as if you are downshifting into a corner say, you want to slow down to high the engine back up?

Lol, the ammount of times I have watched that film and though, WTF is he on about.

Then to really add to my confusion, Ja Rule comes out with some real philosopher sh!t and then make me forget it all in fits of laughter.

Only reason for double clutching is to save the synchromesh gears or when shifting a car with no syncros for example a dog box with straight cut gears mainly used in high output cars or race cars usually used with a syncro shifter with a load sensor that disengages the gear effectively double clutching in one action, doesn't he refer to the muscle car tho, he wouldn't need to double clutch in the Evo or a jap car unless it was fitted with a dog box?

I think the fact that the 'ten second' quarter mile takes about a minute and a half suggests that none of them can actually drive anyway!!

Doms meaning of the double clutching when in a straight line refers to the old days when you had to "pump" the clutch to get it into gear. again no relevance to the drag race as a modern gear box just meshes up nicely :)

"Heal and toe" can also take into acount - Kim, Aka Captain Cupra, aka Jim mentioned at the start is what everyone should be doing to "blip" the throttle on the down shift. This allows the revs to be matched as the clutch is realeased and stops the "jerking" if you wang it down a gear and dont do this. Its good course of practise and really saves your clutch and gear box. also makes for MUCH smoother gear changes on the track.

but yes, F&F sayings souldnt be taken seriously apart from "if you win by an inch or a mile, winnings wining!"

:) isnt that right Kimmy! hahahahaha!!

which bit is that watching it now trying to find it and cant see Ja Rule after Dom talks and Double Clutching.

Sorry, I got it wrong. He says it before the race, when Brian is standing by his car with his preppy face on. Then they come and look at his engine, and talk some bollocks about Nos Fogger system blah blah and then Ja Rule pipes up.

Shortly before he gets 'murked' by some minging chick with massive cans.

Serious question, is this a Rick Roll thread? Like the one apple created about Honda ****-vics and V-Tac?

If it is a serious thread, then I'm sorry in advanced.
