They have hammerite in a variety of different colours in spray can or tin format, ive bought the tin not the spray can.
As for stickers, i bought mine off ebay for about £2.
Hammerite is fine to use I'd recommend spraying them rather than painting it on with a brush, you'll get a better finish. The only thing with hammerite spray is that it's very thin and you have to apply lots of thin coats to build it up to a good finish.
I've done 2 sets of brembos now with hammerite and it's fine. Although it is not an exact match for the original colour. A couple of mine.
How many cans of spray would you need for front and rear calipers?
Do you still need to laquer them after?

I also had abit left after doing just the fronts, but if I were you I'd get 2 cans just incase. If you don't use the 2nd get a refund on it. I didn't use any laquer at all IMO you don't need to.
I did my rear calipers at the weekend and will being doing the fronts this weekend. I think the spray is alot easier and neater finish compared to when i used a brush on previous cars

Spray definately gives a better finish. The first set of calipers i done i completely stripped them back to bare metal with paint stripper and they turned out really good. The second set (on my LCR) I just took the paint down enough to remove the original brembo logo then sprayed them, this way was ALOT quicker and easier and they turned out just as good. So the choice is yours.
How long are you leaving between coats, lads. Is it best to leave overnight then spray again in the morning.
Also are you rubbing down after each coat or not. Cheers.

I followed the instructions on the can, I think it was leave it 15 mins before applying the next coat. No need to rub down between coats.

Yeah I think I will spend most of my time prepping and masking up lol. I did consider taking them off but I last time I did a brake fluid change one of the nipples was a little temperamental and knowing my luck will now snap so they are staying on lol.
Sorry to hijack, DK the colour of your wheels is exactly what I am after, is it a particular paint code?
I let mine dry till it went tacky, if you let is dry fully fresh Hammerite doesnt like dry Hammerite.
I've not got a paint code, I got them powder coated by Spit & polish, I asked for the shinest Metalic Anthracite they had.
might swap the tin for the spray on the weekend then. x1 can for front and back calipers enough?

Well i swapped the tinned hammerite for spray can and gave to the guy doing other spray work on my car to sort.
Before (they were much worse than this before i got them done)

Got him to do the rear ones too as theyve always been pinky and faded:
Overall very impressed. The guy said they do take forever to dry but the results are great, nice glossy red finish, and the decals off ebay worked a treat too.

Personally I chose not to in the end as it mkes it easier to touch up the calipers as required and apply new decals after doing so. Thus far the vinyl is as good as the day it went on, as is the paint.
