T's 2002 LCR - ALMOST DONE
Time for me to do a proper readers ride now. I have had some posts up before but nothing in detail.. so here we go..
After owning many cars, my last being a e46 m3 which was a real pleasure to drive and own, it was time to move on and buy a car that i have wanted for a while and a bit more affordable to run.. a LCR
I used to check all over for one, they were mainly way down south or ones with high miles, which i didnt fancy. Then came along a 2002 210bhp LCR in black with very low miles for its age 62k, full history, mot'd and tax'd, cambelt done 2 weeks before he sold it to me, 4 previous owners and with few subtle extras.The car has never seen a track day and it will stay that way.
Loved it from the minute i test drove it.
The car had a custom remap
Angel eye headlights - i didnt like to be honest (he didnt have standards)
forge 007p
The only things that were wrong with it, the passenger side upper tweeter grill was missing.
I kept it as i bought it for 3 years until joing SCN... then the bug hit lol.
First mod i carried out was changing the long aerial for a stubby one.
Then i put some h1 6000k hids in which was a nice touch
Stayed like this for a few weeks before i started getting some serious mods. Next came:
* weitec 50/40 mm drop springs
* Tx autosport fmic
* blueflame exhaust system inc downpipe & de cat (ordered 23/11/10 and recieved today 1/2/11)
* bmc cda induction kit
* liquid gauge
* fabia rear wiper conversion and aero front wipers
* new floor mats
* carbon fibre vinyl for S badges and chrome grill surround
* new standard headlights
* tripple led sidelights
* led number plate lights
* new front splitter
* 2 Pirelli p zero's
* 80mm 3" cold air feed from fogs
* wheels painted in a toyota colour
* interior dash, door handles painted piano black
* front grills also painted piano black
* polyflex dog bone mount
* de badged from rear and wings
* private plate
* Silicone TIP
Still to do:
* Wind deflectors
* front windows tinted
* Fully polyflex bushes etc
* stage 2 remap
* 225bhp steering wheel - if one ever comes available........
Got the car back today after what seemed to be and endless wait.... To sum it up, its been worth the wait. The paintwork thats been carried out, is amazing to say the least.. everything has been done carefully. Nice, smooth and time taking on painting.
The wheels are great, look black at a distance to be honest. Up close you can see that they are a nice Toyota brown.
Also got rid off the angel eyes, replacing them with standards, what a big difference, cars front end is really aggressive. All in all.. im a happy chappy
ps just found out by chance my car has the electric folding wing mirrors..
day just gets better and better
