This was a relatively good run. We saw up to -12 on other runs. Will need to check back and find them.

Sheesh, not seen log's like those before. Certainly back's up what you said.

I'm tipping this was from the "other" fastest mk2 Leon?

May of been pulling a fair bit of time, but definately gave results lol. Much longer though and this could of resulted in a failure.

I don't see why it shouldn't be acheivable. I suppose it would all be down also to which Dyno ran it and if you beleive the figures from that particular dyno. What would be good is if these could be ran at the same time as stg2+ on a RR day.

Not sure of the exact spec's of what has been done to these two turbo's. But on a strong car I think it could be done. Blade's car appears to be one of the good one's and I am told get very little timing pull hence settings can be optimised to get good results and still be way way safer than the log's Al has posted up.

Al, was the fuelling ever logged? Wonder how lean the GIAC code ran?

Its definately achieveable. the tunner I wasat yesterday has done an ed30 with a hybrid KO4 to around 420bhp, and a mk6 gti with an oem ko4 upgrade to over 400. He said himself though, when you get to stage 2+ or stage 3 as they offer it on the tfsi, everything else becomes very expensive in relation to the potential gains. He said it could be done for under 2k, but again as al said thats probably assuming that everything you already have is suitable in good enough condition

Yeah that was the other "fastest" one. The air flow was very close to that of the EVOMS. Fuelling was good as memory serves.

When logged back to back with mine, it was interesting to note that the timing pull on mine was minimal even though it never had the forge twintercooler the other car did (both cars had a/c core removed and S3 intercoolers fitted).

With regard to giving results, the car the log above was from sure did that. It was quicker up to speed on the 1/4 mile probably down to WOT box and better tyres along with a very keen driver getting better seeing amazing 60 foot times, but at speed, the Revo car was still 3-4 mph faster with advanced settings which were "safe".

Normal road settings on Revo S2+ made the car the "same" as the GIAC Extreme, but advance the settings on Revo S2+, and it was quicker.

At least 2 of these cars have had complete new engines (A Cupra and an S3).

By the way, for what its worth, I know of at least 5 or 6 failures on S2+ cars now ranging from Cylinder Head Gasket failures to Piston/Piston Ring problems which have scored the engine to the point that its BER.

At least 2 of these cars have had complete new engines (A Cupra and an S3).

Do you know of any more details surrounding these failures ie what software they were running, if they had started to advance settings and gone too far etc?

Any chance of a point in the right direction and I could have a read for myself?

There have also been issues with seals on HPFP's going, and dumping fuel in to the Oil. As I understand it, this happened to a well known and advertised Leon and it got a new engine too.

is a mainstream K04 upgrade package likely to become available any time soon from a large and reputable tuning firm? also does this stage 2.5 on revo software have specific mapping or is just tinkering with the SPS module?

I will need to look back at logs when I get a chance. I have loads of them from loads of different cars from a Ford Galaxy (yes really) to big Audi's and VW Van's as well as no end of cars.

Not going to give Specific details although I think one came public, and it happened to also have NOS. If the others want to talk about their failures, that would be their call. One thing I do know is that its not code specific, and the other thing I know is that all affected cars had been driven hard.

Hence why my new car is totally standard and I have no proper drive/desire/need/motion to upgrade anything even though I have everything I would need to do it - 261bhp and 230ftlb from a totally boggo standard MY11 Cupra is not bad though :).

Still comparatively very slow mind.

Thats the reason I would only buy an APR one moving forward. When you upgrade the internals, you still use factory seals. What can happen is the seals on the fuel pump fail, and petrol is dumped straight in to your oil, thinning it out and causing lots of damage through reduced lubrication.

The giac Leon cooling was sufficient wasn't it I can't remember what it was running but knowin the owner and you al I'm sure it was top notch. The way I understand it fuelling is a issue on stage two cars pushed to the limit.

I'm glad I got rid of mine when I did, never ending bullshit from that car at one point and tbh the tuning solutions for stage 2 plus cars at the time never seemed quite complete.

I'm confident I won't have those same niggling issues with the rs, but when stuff like this comes about it always brings my mind back to Germans tuners and discussions with them and how they won't take the 2.0tfsi k04 past 340hp due to reliability and longevity.

These latest hybrid developments do seem to be taking a serious look at the fuelling side of things.
