Just sat and read your whole thread at work :) . . An awesome car mate, well done, how did you do those ghost pics? they look amazing :0

Cheers fella's :)

Took it back to Laptab (aka The wheel specialist) as one of the wheels had developed cracks in the powdercoating, and a bobbling effect on the wheel. They were accommodating and redid the wheel (which was done about 9 months ago) and for free, although they buggered up the centre cap so that's being sorted too.

Tomorrow see's the fitting of the engine mounts, FMIC and a cheeky oil change along with anything else we can squeeze into the time :p

The ghosting is done using an x-ray lens  ;) or a couple of photo's merged onto each other, I can't remember which :p

Another update
Today we got busy again and fitted the Forge Motorsport FMIC, changed the oil and filter, sorted a wheel, fitted the R8 Oil cap, changed the engine mounts and polybused the lower mount, all in all a good days work

The Engine Mounts have made such a difference, the car vibrates a little more which I was expecting and don't mind. I didn't expect the sloppiness of the engine putting power down to be as dramatically reduced as it has been by the Vibratechnics and Powerflex combo. It's fantastic!

I've not had chance to test the FMIC just yet, although the car sounds different on startup and seems to growl a fair bit more which I like.

Happy days!

R8 Oil Cap:

Nice LCR Ape, just one thing tho! In the above pic, have you thought about removing the lower section under the oil cap? Makes everything look much tidier in my opinion. It's just fitted to the rocker cover in the same way as an oil cap :)

I had a quick look at it today but then forgot. I might do that in the morning actually. Cheers for the reminder.

I also need to resecure my undertray which decided to detach itself from the car at the back of the engine earlier tonight. That'll teach me for doing some speed and not tightening it properly!

I've ammended the filler car, nice one Rich :D

The Undertray had pulled both its clips and screws out, so luckily they were all attached, just refitted it now so hopefully it won't happen again :D

Now for the polishing and waxing :D

Cheers Mike :)

I fixed the undertray this morning, only for it to come off again :( along with the lower passenger side wheel arch liner / splash guard. It's all off now as the road buggered it a bit, might look into a new one as I quite like it and it must give some benefit.

This afternoon we're painting more bits red :p

Nice one Ape, then engine noise changes with the stiffer mounts.

Looking forward to getting these and fitting too.
