loving the new pics mate, cars looking awesome,

Bought a tow strap for mine a while ago, but it looked a proper ball ache to fit, so its still in the boot, its exactly the same as yours just black. lol,

what size in the towing eye thread mate?

thanks

I had the standard towing eye bolt cut, drilled and another smaller bolt screwed into that with the strap fixed to that. You'll be lucky to find a bolt with the same spacing and size of the standard eyebolt. It's a 3/4" bolt but the thread spacing isn't normal. I tried eBay, Screwfix, B&Q, local DIY / Hardware shops etc and no-one had anything that fitted

Also its a left hand thread which will be all but impossible to find.
best off doing what Ape has done

Regarding the tow strap, want me to take my eye bolt to work and find out what thread it is? It's probably M20 with a fine pitch.

Yes please I'm now about to get one so would like to know......could maybe get a few left hand thread bolts if I knew the correct thread.

It's not a fine pitch it's a very course thread. As Ape said all I did was cut his existing towing eye down and drill and tap to take an M10 x 1.25 bolt which is perfect.

The standard eye bolt is an M20 but with a coarse thread. I took it with me to the various places to match it with no success.

Next up on the list:
Fit FMIC
Fit polybushes to wishbones and lower mount
Fit Vibratechnics Engine mounts
Order full exhaust system

I need to find a place that can do decent 4 wheel alignment as well after we've done the exhaust before the remap too

Nice job m8, saw your car at rockingham a few weeks back ,looks even better in real life. Had my black lcr for 2 years now and the most ive done to it is a tax disc holder. saw how yours sat and decided to start to do a few light mods so ive done the obligatry fabia wiper and have 10mm spacers for the back coming (have to be stealth mods cos the good wife says she wouldnt be seen dead in a modified car and its bad enough i have red brakes). Next will be a 20mm drop at the back but cant drop front cos of speed bumps near mine. Just wondered if i only drop back then would it stand nose up or would it level it up

Cheers bud.

The Fabia Rear Wiper was one of my first mods as the standard LCR wiper is pants.
I only went for 5mm spacers on the rear. Won't you get rubbing issues with 10mm (I'm not sure what wheels you've got though).

a 20mm drop should be alright on the front? Unless your speed bumps are higher than a standard kerb!

To be honest it was a bit of a guestimation, jacked car up and sat wheel where i thought it looked right and then got tape measure out. Got standard wheels ,sounds like i should of gone with 5mm.

Theres a steep road to my house with what looks like WWII bomb laid right at the bottom ,it catches many an unsuspecting visitor out. Friends in anything even resembling ground hugging have been known to park up and walk the extra 300yds.
The LCR only just makes it as standard at 0.5mph so a drop at the front is just impossible but its always sat a bit higher at the back.
Is yours 20mm all round then and 5mm spacers on the back.

I think mine's closer to 30mm all round. Unsure to be honest as I've messed around with it a little. I've got 5mm spacers on the back and I think they've caught the inner arch once or twice when I've bottomed out after landing :p

I didn't look because I thought this answered your question?

I can still find out if you need me to, let me know...

Just measured it, M18 x 2.5mm Pitch.

You'll need a 15.5mm drill to tap it.

I would find the tap for you as well, but I'm not sure if your doing a blind hole or through hole.

For the price of the material, and the drill and tap you will only use once, I'd find a local metric machine shop :). I'd get it done for you but we are primarily imperial due to having American customers, we do have some metric taps, but nothing "exotic".
