Cars looking ace mate, what would be the bits your painting red?

Are you replacing the whole passenger side arch liner, as i broke my a little while ago and need a new one also, so if you are, could you let me know about pricing.

cheers.

The chrome surround around the "S" has been done by Hilla for me, looks fantastic, will get pics up later. Will see what else would benefit from a splash of red :D

I might well be getting a new arch liner too, need to get some prices (thanks for the reminder).

We all know how much Ape likes pictures :D so thought I'd get some up of me doing the surround.

I started with 100 grit paper to rub down the chrome covering, then used 400 grit to smooth it.

Then used Halfords red primer for the base.

I did 2 good coats of the primer, followed by a smoothing using 800 grit paper. Then applied 2 more layers (after letting the primer base harden for an hour or so).

I then smoothed the primer down using 1500 grit paper ready for the colour. I applied about 3-4 built up layers of the colour, letting it harden after each coat.

After that, I used the 1500 paper again to flat the paint, and then applied the clear laquer.

Haven't got any pictures of the surround after the laquer, but I'll leave it to Ape to unveil the finished article on the car :D

I used the same process on the front badge also, with some uber shiney results! :D

Seriously well is an understatement :p I've got the ideas, hillas got the skills when it comes to painting that I haven't!

People were a little unsure when I mentioned it, but it completes the front end 100%. Hilla mentioned doing all the grilles gloss black too which I'm thinking about atm.

Cheers bud, I'll get those other photos sorted and uploaded soon :D

Best service I've had from a supplier by far from these guys. Plenty of emails updating with what's happening, best options etc as you'd expect, but then a text this morning telling me it would arrive between 7:40 and 8:40. 8:00am a knock on the door and it had arrived. Brilliant :D

We're just refurbing the callipers at the moment. Silver with red detailing :D

Fair play to you for reading through it, most of it's banter and rubbish! Thanks for the kind words as well, it's almost got to where I want it to be.

Look what arrived today
