Will do Danny, it's looking like Friday 2nd July at the moment. Waiting for confirmation from a mate that he can do it and then we'll be booking later today.

I should be about, can bring tools/jacks etc if you need anything :)

As long as you have a hair dryer to hand the film goes on pretty easily. They say that any small bubbles will disappear after a few days as the film is actually porus, so I hope they're right as I have one or two bubbles that will be annoying me if they don't go!

And I haven't fitted the centre caps to my OEM alloys yet either :(

Yeh, I kind of wish I'd seen the carbon ones before I ordered mine.

The website is www.lamin-x.co.uk

Mine are the "subtle tint" 12" x 24" which is just enough to do both lights.

So today the car was prepared for my next track day at Snetterton next Friday. A bit early I know, but I'm crazy busy with work at the moment so had to fit it in as and when.
I have found a great little garage near me Carrera Engineering, and as the name suggests they are really a Porsche specialist but he deals with all German marques and seems pretty clued up on the VAG range and most importantly the MK4 Golf platform.
So the car went to him last night and today he carried out primarily an oil change and brake fluid change. I also asked him to give the car a once over bearing in mind the impending track day and gave him the track settings for the KWs so he could adjust them while it was up on the ramps. He fitted my track wheels and tyres, regassed the aircon and fitted a carbon filter and finally fitted my Silicon TIP that's been sitting in my garage for 6 months!

All at a very reasonable price and done by a very decent bloke who, like me, could talk about cars all day long!

Apart from going up to Jabba for routine work and tweaks I normally do this kind of stuff myself but I'm just so busy at the moment I couldnt see how I was going to get this all done in the next week, so I'm happy to have found a local chap who I can trust. They seem to be rare.

Thanks to DannyC87 on here for pointing me in the right direction I also now have my Hague Camcorder headrest mount, so I will try and get some footage of Snetterton up on here after next Friday, (if I don't run out of computing talent in the process and balls it up!)

The car looks and feels so much better with the Pro Race 2.1s on. Very happy with it at the moment. Roll on Next Friday

Sounds good Rob. I'm going to pop down on Friday and try and get my car noise tested to see if it is still track legal, not doing the track day though due to no funds! I'll come and say hello, do you need any tools etc bringing along?

Be good to meet you Danny. Don't think I'll need anything, there's 3 of us coming with cars plus 2 or 3 passengers so between us we should be ok. Thanks for the offer though.

See you Friday

We've got a joint owned E36 328i coupe trackday car which is a laugh to say the least. All stripped out etc etc. And a Porshe 993 C2 which is a new acquisition for a mate of mine and I think will be pretty evenly matched to the LCR. Well, on paper it is anyway, and for what he gains on me with rear wheel drive hopefully he'll lose against my R888s! Not that it's a race or anything ;)

This picture confuses me, how come your top drivers side grill is painted on one side?

Oh, and fantastic car mate looks really clean and smart with subtle mods :)

What figures is your car making now Willie? Did you have it on the rollers when it was mapped?
Not too sure about figures TBH.
It's flowing 210 g/s at the MAF which is about 260 BHP.
I'm going for torque more than BHP.
I'm going for rev 2 tomorrow which will give more torque between 3 and 5,000 RPM :)

Will be on a RR some time but not in the near future
