Not sure yet. I know people bang on about Ferodo DS25000000 pads but they seem very expensive! Might juts go for bog-standard discs and pads TBH. We shall see. I might get tempted when it actually comes to getting some.

Can you recommend any in particular?

Ferodo DS2500's are expensive but WELL worth the money! I'll be forking out a mortgage for some on the Golf when they need replacing. I had CRN discs (cheap as OEM) and Ferodo DS2500's and they were a damn site better than my bigger R32 brakes are now!

I got some brand new ebc redstuff pads and some drilled and grooved discs ( same as damo's 95 quid on ebay) cant compare to standard discs and pads but they work insane! Very little brake dust too, so keeps me happy!

Now, some folk on here don't rate the redstuff pads.... but if you are happy with them then that sounds good to me! Might just have to a few of the site sponsors what they would recommend.

That does seem a popular combo. I like the look of the discs, but the pads!!!!
Maybe...

The discs are very cheap at £90 a pair. The pads cost me more than 2 brand new calipers did! But like i say, well worth it. I was debating it the same as you are now, nearly went OEM but SO glad i didnt! Next to no break dust and pads that bite harder the warmer they get - not fade the warmer they get!!

That pic was taken about a week ago.. but don't look any different with lacquer on! The paint finish is OK on the caliper carriers... I'm gong for a much better finish on the calipers as they are seen more!

I have just ordered some front and rear discs and pads for the Ibiza. Nothing flash, just Mintex disc and pad box.
Brake refurb is going very slowly but getting there. Adding last touches of paint to the calipers and then will lacquer them. Carriers all finished.
