Caliper refurb progress update

First caliper has been fully painted and lacquered and is now being rebuilt with the new seals! Second caliper has had the last paint on this PM and will be lacquered this week (just see it in the background of the first pic.) Discs and pads are on their way too!

looking good mike!!

seeing as you have now gone red im might steal the yellow caliper idea but will have to wait and see ;)

Yeah, I just thought red was a "classic" colour, plus it would suit any wheel style and colour (if I was ever to change) whereas yellow looks awesome behind black.... but not silver IMO!

Are you looking for a set then Rob? I'll keep an eye out for you... ;)

mike how much did you get your caliper and carriers for all the ones i see on the bay are like £150+ for second hand ones :wtf:

I've got a pair of 312mm calipers at home. I bought them off ebay originally, they need a refurb! The pistons look a bit rusty should could maybe do with new pistons and rubbers? But Mike bought a refurb kit which I was told didn't exist! So I ended up paying £100> for a pair of new ones.

If you're interested - make me an offer? They're only sat in the garage doing nothing!

Calipers finished

Finally finished the calipers today. It went something like this: paint/rust removed, Hammerite Smooth Red paint (a good few coats), engine lacquer (again a good few coats), new seals and dust caps. Here are the finished pics with trial fitted pads. Going to be fitted on Friday! :funk:
