After all the time (and money) you've spent on modding it, you are going to sell. But I guess it's time to move on.

I see you are wanting to move over to the dark side (a diseasel) and possibbly an FR PD130, Have you thought about a Furby vRS? It may be cheaper and has 5 doors and is basicaly the same car and the same engine. I may be a bit biased as I have one.

If you do, I would possibly avoid ones with the BLT engines as they can suffer from a 'Stutter' at certain revs. The older ASZ engined ones don't. However on Rolling Roads the BLTs produces more power. Having said that the 'Stutter'can be solved with a different EGR washer.

Ok not soo good guys. I was pricing up insurance this mornig for a pd130 and an FR and quite expensive, was gonna swap my car off my policy just now which i have paid for the year to new car but they wont insure anyone under 21 on a car 125bhp or above. which means losing out on what i have paid and also paying for a new policy at about £1500 :(. Might just take the car off and keep it till september and get another years NCB and see if insurance is cheaper then. + its £105 to get my private plate transfered, Its alot of money especially when im going 3 holidays and only holding down a bar job just now.....gutted. I still love my car anyways so not like im losing out, Owell guess i can just work on keeping mine well for time being!!

How old are you then mate? and what insurance company was that with?? I paid £235 to add my FR to my policy when i sold my 1.3 polo coupe (after 6 weeks of renewal) and that was insured for £352 Full Comp. So all together Ihad my FR insured for about £600 and I was 19 with 2 years NCB. That was with admiral (who I renewed with again this year I might add). Although having just forked out for the new policy, I guess it wouldnt do you to cancel it so hanging on for your extra NCB would be a good move.

Love the car by the way! Been watching your thread for a while, just never really posted much on here.

just as an FYI though - i bought an 04 FR for under 4k, but it had a lot of motorway mileage!!

You can't compare his insurance to you unless you live in the same area nd have the exact same driving history. I have an FR just got a renewal throught Admiral 3NCB I am 25 they wanted £600:wtf: Saved £200 by going elsewhere and getting all my mods covered I swear they just make it up on the spot at times!

Thats interesting  I'm with Admiral, with 1 YNCB and paying £530 and i'm 21. Always though Admiral were good, however where did you go?

Yeah - i aprreciate the other factors that affect insurance. I wasn't so much comparing my insurance with his, I guess it was more out of curiosity why he was being quoted so much when there are companies that will insure a younger driver for a "reasonable" cost.

Incidentally, I just paid just shy of £600 with admiral with 3 years NCB - although swinton quoted me £2.5k - product of the lucky number generator I think.

Back on topic, I'm sure whatever happens, whether you can get a PD130/FR or not, you have a car there to be proud of! It's motors like yours that have inspired me to get on with mine, although I've only just pulled my finger out and started doing a few small bits other than the necessary servicing/insuring/generally maintaining stuff [:@]

i will be 20 this year and have 1 ncb, been driving since i was 17, so 2 years and 3 months or so, but i think when u hit 21 ur insurance drops a bomb load if you aint crashed. maybe i should just bide my time and save for a newer one, still love the 1.2 anyways but the more i thought about it and looked into newer cars, the more inconvienient it seemed to be :(

21 is a big jump down in insurance mate when i got my cupra lat year it was a week before me 21st birthday and to insure it at 20 with 3 years was 1600 yet to insure it at 21 with 3 years was just under a grand, big difference, i think 21 and 25 are the main drops for insurance :)

i also saw a bit of a drop at 21. this year im 25 in may reinsured in january and some companys wouldnt give me insurance untill im 25 so in that 5 months im obviously going to mature massively lol i think not so im hoping for a reasonable drop next year. just couldnt beleive 5 months would make such a difference.
so are you planning on keeping your current car abit longer than you had hoped scott?
