I may well do Nick! Would be interested in having a look at what you have.

Had a rummage through a box of goodies i got from my sister a while back and found a load of 3400k LED 24V regulated strips :)

Just need to see how brighta they are on 12v which will dictate how thick the mask needs to be and also whether I need to bother with external power or not. They consume .12W per LED and there's 10 LEDS per strip .... run 4 strips per existinf bulb and that's about 4W per bulb - give or take what the existing stuff draws. They can be trimmed down too ;)

Just need the dash to arrive now :)

Still no sign of the EL sheet however i think i've cracked part of the problem.

When you use an LED in place of the bulb, it's often a LOT taller than the bulb it replaced, with careful checking, you can replace all of the bulbs in the twist fit holders with short 286 ( type 74) LEDS. These are coming in almost the same height as the OEM bulb, they are diffused and frosted.

I've had most of the dash in bits now, just need to take the starter button assembly stuff to bits and have a poke around in there :)

In total, I reckon about £45 of LEDS to do ALL of the dash area, including fitting colour coded LEDS for things like turn signals, main beam warning light etc.

Worked but far too dim.

So hacked it to bits and tried this

Worked but still a little too dim

Now this works much better, the connections to the switch illumination are the same size as mini spade terminals. Took the switch to bits, picked out the orange light mask, fitted the LED from inside, reassemble switch and connect it up.

I know it looks pink but it's really RED, stupid iPhone really doesn't capture colour very well.

Kudos for doing this though, will be worth the effort once finished :funk:
