It's one of those shop display 3x3watt luxeon downlighters, gives off a crazy amount of light for almost no current draw. Will see what it looks like in the dark later but it's definitely giving out more light than the standard lamp :)

Looking ever as good Pat but, we wouldnt expect anything else from you. So much for the 'Im not modifying this one' 6 pages so ;) What was wrong with the reverse light ?

Regulators. Quite neat and nicely put together.

IMG_0132.jpg

These are what i'm using as the LEDS, one for fog and one for reverse :)

IMG_0133.jpg

All wired up and ready for testing tomorrow.

Rear lights all fitted and working, dash LEDS fitted and working .... only got one issue and that's the heater controls, i'll need to build my own LEDS and custom mount them in the existing lamp sockets to get them bright enough. The audio control ones have worked a treat - dash took about 10 minutes to remove

Nice and bright, not sure why the CH button hasn't lit up - will have a look at that when the dash comes out next.

Not so bright

You can see the spots visible, will address this when the new filters arrive.

IMG_0137.jpg

Basic illumination, much crisper, can't wait to get the new filters in :D

New fog and reverse all wired in with the regulators, no more blowing LEDS and a much better output!

Very good Pat. The exhaust made any performance difference.

It sounds better :D I reckon that's it, which was all I was expecting / hoping for :)

Blimey Pat.. just read the thread through.. some amazing trickery going on bloke :D

god only knows what it would be like now if you had started modding it ;)

I know, i've done really well to hold back on the mods I think :ban: I knew i'd end up doing something with it, just can't help myself it seems.

Another update.

Got the stuff from America however it' just diffusers and not a perspex panel - my view is that a perspex panel is needed to retain the correct placement of the diffusers so out with the dremmel.

After a couple of hours of careful cutting / sanding / milling it looks like this. I used varying grades of wet and dry on the perspex to get it as near to opaque as possible whilst retaining a smooth unscratched appearance. By placing the diffuser in front of my perspex piece, the sanding marks are not visible.

My panel is above, the diffuser is below. I've yet to see how it looks in the car in terms of bright spots but in all honesty, I could care less, i just want rid of the ginger!

All matches nicely

Although the LEDS show as brighter dots on the camera, they're fine in the car. Pig of a job, time consuming and fiddly but worth the effort :)
