Im gonna be lapping my valves in tonight..

Do i Put some Permant marker around the seat and use Rough grade 1st and do it like in this video..

Can i do it with a very slow speed cordless drill? but do it same way as in the video but with a drill..on really slow speed?

I used that millers oil to run mine in mate, i think it virtually took 5 ltrs from totally empty to fill it up, as for running in theres soome threads floating about i know i started one a while back.

you dont want to be going the same direction... old skool sucker-stick rub between ya hands so it goes both ways and lift and drop in, repeat and check etc..

Ive been doing the 1st 3 exhaust valves tonight by hand and its killing me lol

Finally ive just finished all 20 valves and it took me 4 hours to do them all proberly with both grades....
All thats all done now and its already to be picked up by john 2morro night and be all rebuilt back up then it can all go back together every part off it....

Its defo a grim task todo as my hands a killing me...so im off to kfc now for right good all much ...

For 2x 5 litres of millers running in oil its worked out at £60 inc vat...Now im hearing people using Halfords mineral oil as its the same think as id be ditchin the 1st lot within 20miles anyway....But £60 is a lot for oil considering it won't even last me...

Or doe it defo have to be decent oil for running it in?

Yeah, I meant £18 per 5 litres. Halfords mineral oil will do as well.

I got 10w40 but it doesn't matter too much, some use 5w30.

Just as ''Long'' as its mineral oil?

Yeah, deffo not synthetic oil, it's too slippery. I went 10w40 because it's slightly thicker so should help in the running in of fresh rings etc. but it's up to you.

I might be going with the Millers stuff yet if alex can sort me out a price on them....As i know its a tryed and tested oil Over and over....

But il see how things go...I know i aint payin £60 for oil which will get binned in under 1,000 miles...
How are you going about with running you engine in rob?
How would you know that its in Maxuim Torque in the gear? Via the boost gauge?

I got the head home and started work. first off cutting my finger on the cam sharp edges i should know better.

replaced all the valve stem seals and then started with the exhaust valves

job done and ready for the inlet side another night
