slightly off topic but i guess all you guys talking about going fast with ben and his dsg have seen the recent thread about him?

Yep. Gutted for Ben. I think the idea of the clip was to show that a stage 2 car can live with the big boys though in this case an RS4.

Let's leave Ben out of this, shall we?

It's not relevant, the other thread was locked for a reason and it would be a shame to get this one locked too.

i agree. i was trying to highlight the possible ramifications about discussing 'how fast we can go' in forums.

A few moons ago a friend of mine got pulled showing me his recently uprated LCR. We checked the road at 1.30am, safe dual carriage way no speed traps or cops evident drove a few miles then accelerated back along the road we had just came along. Unknown to us we had merged in front of an unmarked Traffic. They tailed us till we entered a 50 zone then lit us up. It was one of the most sinking feelings ever and I wasn't even driving.

Point is it's never safe to do the crazy speeds, my friend got about 18mths ban, hefty fine, dangerous driving conviction, f***ed up insurance, car for sale. you name it. I got a guilt complex.

Nope. Never launch from standstill - blind myself with tyre smoke:D

You could buy a WOTBOX. I understand Regal have one fitted in their stage 3 GTI.

Before considering anything like that though you really need to try some proper tyres (R888's or A048's) alongside a proper suspension set-up (adjustable suspension with the rear set harder than the front),ARB's, engine mounts, WALK kit and a full corner weight alignment. You'd be surprised by how much you spend and what difference it makes to the power deployment.[B)]

I bet the new Bilsteins I have on alongside the cornerweight set-up would get me down to 13 flat on the 1/4 mile now.

You must be close to having spent as much modifying your car as you did buying it lad . How many remaps, suspension set ups, wheels and other stuff have you had?!

With regard to times, to be fair, you are also getting more experienced on the 1/4 mile ;). I remember Ben with only a remap, TBE (with 2.75" downpipe), 18" Pro Race 1.2's and a panel filter, pretty well matching your 1/4 mile stats. Therefore, is all that stuff really that necessary?

would some one describe a typical start you should be looking for from a high power high torque front wheel drive car. to be honest im pretty much a dunce.
